morales offered him a fight as well. so did hamed. he turned them down.

    excuses.

whether he was avoided or not don't mean **** for this topic.

he didn't fight anyone for the 1st 10 years of his career.

    unless you count norwood.
I hate when people bring up Hamed when you know he ducked and dodged his whole career. Anyway. For you to say he fought no one disrespects a few good boxers. Norwood was formittable. Robbie Peden was definitely tough. I do believe he had a few title defenses. He also fought a couple of like opponents with Morales. So are they in the same boat?

Granted he's made some horrible choices in choosing opponents such as fighting Chris John and losing, he was in the shadow of Barrera and Morales simply because he didn't have that typical Mexican brawl type style. He wasn't until he fought his first fight against Pac where he was noticed, Morales has a much better resume which makes me ponder about how Marquez would've done had he took on Morales' resume.

If he fought the Barrera that Morales fought, he would've been hurt. Juan's chin is nothing to write home about, and that Barrera was a killer.
