WBC featherweight champion "in recess," Elio Rojas, has already started his preparation to return to the ring. Primitive Cadate spoke to Rojas's agent, Tony Tineo, who says Elio is still seeking a unification with WBA/IBF champion Yuriorkis Gamboa. In February of last year, Rojas successfully defended his crown against Mexican Guty Espadas Jr. by unanimous decision. He was then scheduled to fight Gamboa. He was forced to withdraw to have surgery to correct the problems in his right hand.

How about fighting with Hozumi Hasegawa and then unification with Gamboa. But for me it's ok if he fights Gamboa first. Gamboa would have 3 belts will be undisputed champion and lineal champion, maybe also in P4P list by the end of the year.

I like what Top Rank is doing by giving Gamboa another fight before putting him in their with Rojas.

Gamboa is clearly the better fighter (in comparison to Rojas), It's just he needs another fight to prepare him for that bout...someone like a Jason Litzau or Jhonny Gonzalez.

why would top rank want gamboa to have better shot at winning? top rank would pray for gamboa to not even be in the fight for the juanma fight, is obvious juanma has that ethnic following not gamboa
