Comments Thread For: Khan-Peterson on April 16, Could Lead To Khan-Marquez

According to Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, negotiations are still ongoing to finalize an opponent for Amir Khan's next defense of the WBA junior welterweight title. The return of Khan (24-1, 17KOs) has been set for April 16 in the United Kingdom. Khan-Peterson is a good idea. Khan-Marquez is a bad one.

          Marquez is too small.

Khan should fight the winner of Alexander-Bradley then try to get Berto or Mayweather at welterweight.

I'm all in for Khan-Peterson I think it's a really good fight..But Khan-JMM does not make sense unless JMM beats a decent fighter from the weight Class..But Khan should be wanting to fight the winner of Bradley-Alexander..But IMO this is just something GBP is throwing out there so the winner of Bradley-Alexander knows that Khan has other options..This fight with JMM just does not make sense at the moment,a champion needs to be crowned at 140lb and all the players are set up for that to happen..Let's see how this plays out..

if gbp seriously wants to beat top rank then they need to learn to stop trying to make in house fights and listen to fans who want unifications and clarity in divisions. the best fighting the best. khan v winner of bradley or alexander. then let jmm challenge for lineal honours at 140...if he is the lineal 140 king then maybe he gets another shot at manny in 2012

It still amazes me how a boxing fan can belittle Marquez after the brilliant boxing he's given us over the years and talk about Khan like he's a beast at any weight class. He is extrenely vulnerable and he's been knocked out by IMO a lesser fighter. I just want someone to refer me to the fight that made Khan a superstar because maybe I havent seen it. Was it a depleated Barrera or Malignaggi? LOL. Marquez shouldnt have to keep proving he's worthy of these big fights. It should be the other way around. Is it the loss to Mayweather (everyone he faced has lost to him) or is the part of his career when he took Manny to the limit. It just seems ass backwards to me. Khan may one day be a great fighter just not today.

khan -peterson,then khan vs alexander/bradley,why he would not want the winner of them and to unify asap would be beyond me.

beating marquez at 140 is not as good as unfiying the 140 division, maybe fight marquez after if he unifies.

but anyway,if marquez fights who ever and wins surely his next fight should be pacman if floyd is not free to fight.
