how would Ricky Hatton fare against current 140lb division?

    Was thinking the other night.....

How would Ricky Hatton do against the top 5 JrWW of today.....and this is how it played out in my mind.....

Vs. Bradley - Ricky would get a late TKO or SD win....his body shots to Bradley would start to take affect in the later rounds coupled with the fact that Bradley doesn't have the power to make Hatton think twice about backing off (Hatton handled Paulie pretty good remember?)

Vs. Alexander - Devon's inexperience would get him KTFO by round 6 or 7. Nothing against Devon....but Ricky's experience would overcome any of Devon's advantages in speed and youth.

Vs. Khan - This in my opinion would be the most interesting fight....Khan was able to outbox Paulie, withstand Maidana's power and has comparable handspeed to Manny.....BUT would he be able to execute Roach's gameplan....50/50 fight.

Vs. Maidana - Whoever lands that 1st body shot to take the wind out of the other would land the KO punch in the later rounds to end it....going with Ricky's experience again here...but a SD Win for either would not surprise me.

Vs. Ortiz - Ortiz would box Hatton till about round 8-9...then the fireworks from both will start flying....if Ortiz stays disciplined he sparks Hatton....if he gets pulled into the firefight...Hatton gets a late TKO or body shot KO.

    Thoughts and or opinions?

    Happy New Years all!!!!

Imo Bradley and Alexander lack the sort of power needed to keep Hatton off of them Hatton beats either by U.D or late stoppage imo Bradley would put up the better fight out of the two.

Maidana doesn’t have the skill level required to beat a prime Hatton and he showed in the Khan fight he may struggle against a body puncher.

Ortiz? Well I don’t give him a chance in hell sure he has the speed power and even skill but to win a fight with Hatton you need one thing he desperately lacks a heart. Hatton is going to test your will and desire and he’s not going to stop until he’s on his back I don’t see Ortiz having the balls to come through a fight like that.

Khan would be the toughest for Hatton but I would still favour Hatton

Bar Maidana all those guys are pretty young and can still improve so maybe after seeing how there careers progress from this point I could change my mind with a few of those guys and of course im talking about a prime version of Hatton.

A prime Ricky beats them all but his time's been and gone. The version of Ricky that turned up against Lazcano and Pac does nothing in the division now.

Ricky gets **** on but he was a great fighter. Obviously never ELITE, but he woulda took all Bradley and Alexanders shots and TKO'd them.

Khan too fast for him. Ricky don't have the power, KO of JLC excluded.

You're giving Hatton way too much credit here, guy was just never that good.

Prime Hatton at 140lbs was good enough to beat all those guys listed in fact I would say that those guys haven’t proven themselves to be ‘that good’ yet.

Look at each guys resume and tell me who they have fought that is anywhere near as tough of a fight as a prime Hatton?

I think he would beat Bradley and Alexander. Khan would be too tall and fast imo. Ortiz would be tricky because of his power and southpaw stance but Hatton could probably break his will.

I'd favor Hatton over Khan, bad style match-up for Khan.
