Can Mayweather vs. Pacquiao kill the "Boxing is Dying" saying?

I hear a lot of the mainstream media Pardon The Interruption in particular and other news outlets in America stating the decline in Boxing and how it is a dying sport. I find it funny how they do not really follow or know about Boxing and they make these statements. I was wondering if Boxing has a huge 2011 with Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao happening and shattering all records for most PPV's ordered and highest gate of all time stop this saying? Also what if Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye fight in Europe and sell over 80,000 tickets? And Juan Manuel Lopez and Yuriorkis fight each other and display their talents. What can Boxing do to stop Kill this saying "Boxing is a dying Sport?"

No. The "boxing is dying" is an easy article for journalists to rehash so it won't be going anywhere.

To get rid of it boxing fans need to care less about what people from big media organizations think about boxing.

You think the fans need to do something to get rid of it?

What about the promoters and Ross Greenburg and Showtime Execs?

Why do people say it when it is not true? and there has to be something that can be done.

They don't really mean that Boxing is gonna die and be gone for good, they just mean that soon it will not be the #1 combat sport. And they might be right because MMA is blowing up right now. Just keep watching and supporting boxing and that's all you have to do.
