I agree, albeit a prime Mosley still would lose to a prime Floyd though in a classic nonetheless. I strongly believe Floyd's Prime was 5 years ago, too bad no one of statue wanted to face him then.Comment

my question is why does mosley always think he can win with just speed and power. he still hasn't learned there is more to boxing than thatLast edited by Shadow boxer 3; 01-02-2011, 04:47 PM.Comment

Exactly!...it's the same mindset cost him the fight against Cotto, Mayweather, and will cost him against Manny if he doesn't get rid of that mindset and learn how to think and adjust in a fight.Comment

shane has never been a boxer, he's just been fast. pac can be outboxed just not by shane. he has a punchers chance for the first few rounds but thats it IMOComment

As of late Pac isn't using them. He picks the weights he wants to face the opponent. He has trouble keeping weight on at WW let alone JMW.
JWW is perfect as he is not a natural WW in the first place and JMM is a LW. Pac moves "down" (or maintains his weight) while JMM moves "up". Its meeting in the middle to give the majority of fans what they want.
I don't understand why it's a problem. Then again I didnt understand why he had no problem fighting De La Hoya at WW but demanded a catch for Cotto. Then again I didn't understand how you fight a career WW for a vacant JMW title at a catchweight either.
Let's be a little realistic..
Regarding Cotto vs Pac, we would've seen the same result @ 145 or 147..
Manny fought Oscar @145...the same as Cotto!
Fellas, there s nothing dictatorship about it...Both opponents agreed to fight@145, no?
Catchweights has been done and agreed upon for many generations in our sport by former elites way before Manny was even born.
However, I agree with you regarding Marquez vs Pacquiao...that shouldv'e been the fight taken place in May! And Yes It wouldv'e sold millions if promoted and handled the right way by calling it "THE TRILOGY"!
Now, some of the peeps on here like to focus more on the weight than on ability.
Marquez has a “cold” chin. Easy to drop, but hard to stop.
He has proven that he can take Manny’s shots and keep rumbling. Sure Manny has been able to take his better. I thought Manny beat Marquez twice by 1 and 2 points, but he went through hell. I would favor Manny to beat Marquez again but I’m not so sure he stops him in a few rounds. It’s not out of the question but there are things I see that make me believe that won’t happen. I would bet Marquez goes at least 9 rounds. Maybe even the distance. He is one of the most resilient fighters in the history of boxing...and to easily dismiss him is asinine! Yes, he looked slow and sluggish @WW but who was he fighting?Comment

Rubbish. And I can't for the life of me understand why you would say that.....
unless you just simply do not want that fight.
Did Manny prove himself at 147 before the Hoya fight?
Did Manny prove himself at 154 before his title shot ?
Marquez is an elite fighter, and he already beat Manny at least once.
They should fight because of the history between the two, they should fight because it is the fight that MOST fan's want to see, and they should fight because it makes financial sense if Mayweather isn't interested.
Manny is a natural JWW and can easily make 140.
140 would be a fairer contest, and even at 140 Manny would still have a considerable advantage over the 37yo midget JMM. 140 would be a better fight, it would be better for boxing, and it would also be better for Manny's legacy.
It is clearly obvious why Team Pacquiao will not face Marquez at 140.....
" I think Juan Manuel Marquez at 140 pounds would have made for the perfect big event given the Cinco de Mayo weekend date of the fight. It’s got everything: the heated rivalry storyline with their first two bouts, the competitive and entertaining style matchup, and the Mexican fan support. However, this fight only makes sense to me if it takes place at junior welterweight (and I would hope Marquez would weigh-in under 140 pounds). Why Pacquiao and company refuse to even consider fighting Marquez at 140 pounds (instead of the 144 or 147 they stipulate) is a very good question. The answer is obvious: they want every conceivable advantage against their aging but still-dangerous nemesis ".....
