The Contender: Opinions?

Guys I was havin a look at The Contender's episodes online...

Am I the only one that thinks that none of the boxers participating at the program apart from Mora are top level pro boxers?

I mean, I see them training and fighting and we got 17 year olds at the gym training with no shoes that would easily give them an ass wooping.
But maybe that's just my opinion.

You might be right, however, it is still alot better than the UFC version. That TUF show is nonsense.

I doubt it most of them were B or C boxers trying to push their way into the big picture of boxing.

Still though B and C pro boxers are better then 97% of boxers.

I think most of them are C and D fighters with an occasional B. Sakio Bika was and is a problem for anybody.

I Disagree....Ishe Smith, Peter Manfredo, Jesse Brinkley(recently ko'd by Bute) and Alfonzo Gomez were all from the Contender Series....And while they are not A level fighters they're pretty dang good compared to a 17 year old w/ no shoes in your gym.

LOL u shud see the 17 year old kid...yeah maybe ur right...

but some fights just look fake..like these guys take 10 punches and dont move out the way, and right after they give back the 10 punches they took...it looks like a rocky movie...i dunno..in real boxing I rarely see so many combinations without the guy steppin out of the freakin way...

the problem with the Contender was all the editing they did to the fights. I believe they even put in sound effects for the punches and crowd noise. That in itself messes up the fights and you can't really get a sense of how good one guy is or how good the fight really is. If you edit out what you want you can make any fight look good or any fighter. That's what I didn't like about it. I much rather had watched the actual fights w/o editing.
