OK...someone name some great fighters that were NOT overrated please..

    i've heard Ali fought bums,
    tyson fought bums,
    armstrong fought bums,
    floyd avoided good fighters,
pacman fought good fighters on the slide,

is there any great fighters that actually fought other prime fighters and stiff competition and won most times?

Everyone is either overrated and underrated by some people.

Every fighter is overrated or underrated it all depends on who is doing the rating.

            lennox lewis

            he fought everybody
NEVER ducked (klitschko fans will say he ducked a rematch but he fought
            him once so whatever)
            he took his losses
and he turned them into victories in rematches

lewis is underrated and hated but
this man earned my respect from the way
he carried himself in/out the ring

I think one of the best parts of being a fan is overrating the fighters we like so, in order to answer this, you probably have to think of fighters who weren't necessarily the greatest and who don't elicit a great deal of emotional response.

So it'd probably be people like Mike McCallum, Virgil Hill, Julian Jackson, Kostya Tsyzu and probably Miguel Cotto in a few years.
