Comments Thread For: DiBella Responds To Paul Williams' Trainer on KO Punch

Lou DiBella, promoter for WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, has fired back at George Peterson, the trainer for Paul Williams. In an earlier story, Peterson gave his opinion on the left hand that knocked Williams out in the second round of their rematch. He called the shot a "desperation" punch that Martinez threw with his eyes closed.

I dissagree on that he landed that punch several times in the fiorst. He didnt.

JHowever it was a great punch and Paul was doing extremely well untikl that KO punch. I watched that fight several timesnand Paul got reckless becayuse he was landing on Sergio at will.

A lot of NSB bandwagoners who only follow Pac and Floyd love to say that OPaul did nothing in that fight. Not true at all.

No he didnt. The punch that KO'd him was flawless.

Martinez only got that punch right once. On the obvious KO.

Dude I watched the fight again this morning. He may not have hit him as clean with it before, but he hit him with that same punch. If you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you, the video of the fight is proof enough.

              utter bull****

martinez was throwing the overhand left repeatedly since the start of the first round, sometimes landing something not. obviously he didnt have the time or distance figured out yet until he landed the KTFO punch.

just keep being a fan boy and don't talk real boxing cause you don't know ****.

Yeah u need to go revisit the fight again. And when your done watching it, pop in Paul vs Carlos, Paul vs Margarito etc. Paul gets hit WAYYYYYYYY to much. His chin is out there to be hit and it was just a matter of time before he got ko. Paul lucky he didnt get ko his first fight when he dropped in the first round. Paul is 6'3' but fights like he's 5'9', he has no skill just throws slapping punches instead of using his reach. My advice to Paul is stay far away from Martinez because he's gonna get ko again.

Martinez threw that same punch and caught Williams with it almost everytime in the first fight, He did the samething in the rematch in the 1st round, So i dont know what Peterson is talking about, You can turn and close you eye and still aim a punch in the direction that you want.

                    Was not lucky.

Martinez dropped Williams in the 1st fight then landed many shots that stunned him..

Paul needs to work on his defense but thats his thing offense so he is open to counter shots its just the risk that he takes when he fights like that it either pays off or its doesnt...so really he should have no excuses he got caught he lost move on give martinez his credit and let it go.
