Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Still Wants a Crack at Miguel Cotto

The handlers of WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez are still trying to finalize a deal for a title defense against unbeaten Sergei Dzinziruk on March 12 in New York City. Should everything work out in March, Martinez would like to face WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto next.

Bob wont allow this. He needs to keep Cotto winning at JMW so Pac can fight him later in 2011 no matter what anyone wants. Arum knows it would make money and could justify that Pac actually fought a JMW..... (boxing gods where disgusted as I was writing this)

I still say that Sergio Martinez would put a good beat down on miguel Cotto if and when they fight.

Miguel Cotto's gonna sprout feathers when Martinez comes around.

I don't blame him. He's not getting any younger and any richer. He needs a few PPV attractions like Cotto and Pac to make some good money and the retire

Interesting fight, but Martinez size, speed and skills might pull it out. You have to have atleast a decent straight right hand to stay competitive with Martinez

No doubt but I don't want to see if i'm wrong or right. If Martinez fights at JMW it should be vs Mayweather or Pac. Cotto at 155 is just a money fight that Arum wont take the risk on. Just as he wouldn't allow Floyd to fight Cotto at that time. Bob has agenda and its not about what the fans want or making the best matches.

Luckily in this case, I don't think the fans even want this fight anyway so Bob would have a great argument when he turns the fight down. Right now, everyone wants Margarito vs Cotto II. That sells. Bob will make that or Pac vs Cotto II at JMW.

Martinez' looked too damn good in his last fight for Bob to even think about him right now.
