Cotto would be a harder fight for Canelo than Mosely, IMO he can beat Mosely easily but It will be hard for him to beat Cotto, He might be too young and inexperienced still!! Maybe Cotto in 2012

Too soon. This kid has a fantastic career ahead of him but it would be a big mistake to throw him in with Cotto or Mosely in '11. Even though both of these vets are on the descending side of their peak and Canelo is a rising star they would school him on Boxing 101. I would be shocked if Schaefer allowed that kind if match making. Go ahead and take on the Malignaggis, Aydins, M. Hattons, Jacobs, and Qualis of the world. Eventually setting up what could be a future super fight at 147 vs a Berto, Bradley, Alexander, or Khan. All that will happen in a fight vs Shane or Cotto right now is that Saul will look green against a vet. He needs to take his time and continue to lab and get rounds under his belt. He isn't a natural 147 Lber so he better make his name against these young guys because when he gets closer to 30 he will struggle to make weight and he is too short to be great at 154, maybe good but not great. This kid has a shot to be great at 147, patience young Jedi, patience.

I don't think canelo's gonna be at 147 that long. Maybe 2 more fights then up to 154.

at the end oscar/richard/suals managment are going to do what they want. but i want to believe that those i mentioned dont have s h i t for brains and will not put in saul with either shane/miguel. like many have said already the kid is not ready yet maybe 2012 will be better but not end of 2011 i.m.o.

Mosley fight would be the most logical fight for Alvarez IMO the typical youth vs age thing going for them. It adds to the popular names he defeated. Casual boxing fans that knows Mosley will know the name Canelo Alvarez soon.

mosley or cotto is rushing it imo. he needs to fight b-level fighters before taking on these big names. GBP is too focused on cash if they think he deserves to fight a big name like that in '11. he still has a lot to work on and fix, i think making him fight a big name like that will ruin his career or severly damage it. let him work his way up, he is only 20.
