Latest news on the Hatton vs Warren situation...

RICKY HATTON’S family is at war with promoter Frank Warren.

The IBF world light- welterweight champion is at the centre of a contract row with Warren.

Now his younger brother Matthew and dad Ray have waded in.

Welterweight Matthew was due to fight Ross Minter for the English title on a Warren show.

But dad Ray said: “Out of loyalty to his family, Matthew has pulled out after what’s gone on between Ricky and Frank.”

Warren said: “What has ‘gone on’, I don’t know.”

    ----------------------------------------

Hatton's brother has pulled out of his English title fight with Minter out of respect for his family?

I don't wanna jump the gun, but that sounds like Ricky Hatton will very possibly be moving away from Warren?

I think Hatton family should MTOB. Hatton is a grown man, I think he should make his own decision. When is Hatton gonna fight, it doesn't look like we gonna see Hatton fighting anytime this year. He should sign with an American promoter, he will have chance to make a name for himself in the US.

I agree, I think he should sign with an American promoter, but I understand the struggle he is going through.

Would he ever be able to fight at MEN Arena if he leaves Warren? He would love to make his first defense there I'm sure, before coming over to the states to take on PBF or Cotto. If he leaves Warren, you know Frank will make Hatton's career in the UK difficult.

Here's hoping he says "I'm going to America" and signs with an American promoter and fights Maussa/Witter and then steps it up to fight PBF or Cotto...

I dont want him to leave Warren. And neither did his family. But it was the threat of legal action by Warren which made the family rechoose their loyalty. If warren had not sent the letter, threatening legal action it would all be cool now...

All i want is the best for Hatton, and i actually thought that WArren was getting him the fights he has wanted, so i want him to stay with Warren, but if he signs with an American promotor and gets Mayweather... im happy with that too....

Nah, Hatton was getting fights with bums with Warren, the Ben Tackies, Wilfredo Vilchez, Ray Olveiras and Hatton had doubt in his self in fights cause hes never been in a top notch fight till he finally got a chance vs Tsyzu. Warren did a horrible job with Hattons career. Hatton by now should be mentioned among boxings elite Top 10 P4P list but is only mentioned in by the British, If Hatton stay with Warren, Hatton will get fights against many more journeymen and wont get respected by Americans and Hatton will never get a big money fight against a North American fighter and the North American fighters promoter.

Warren's company, Sport's Network signed an exclusive 2 year deal with the Manchester Evening News arena for any boxing.

The MEN is what sold 22,000 tickets in 2.5 hrs for the Hatton Vs Tszyu fight... no more fighting there for Ricky if they split.

Personally, i think Ricky should sign with an american. Warren is standing in Ricky's way - protecting his stock - which Ricky hates as he wants to go down as a warrior, he aint interested in retiring unbeaten, he wants the best.

I disagree, he is considered in many people's P4P. Well anyone that has brains to see that when a P4P fighter gets beat, his place gets replaced by the fighter who beat him. It happened to Taylor VS Hopkins, so why shouldnt Hatton be considered someone in the top 10 after his win over Tszyu???

And Warren has said his fights will be over in America, fighting class opponents. I just dont see what you lot are seeing. I dont see how Hatton would take a step down from the Tszyu fight. Anything from here on in, is going to be against a big fighter. So I dont know how you can say he is going to be fighting journeymen if he stays with Warren. People are in demand for Hatton and they simply wont allow him to fight bums anymore.... neither will Ricky.

Once he gets here in America whoever the promoter will be might be up for a couple of tune up fights before taking on Cotto. and PBF??? Nah not right now. I swear PBF's hand's ar quick as hell and Hatton might be taking too much of a risk if he chooses that path.

I like this! Hatton is doing a smart thing he may sign with bob arum or golden boy! maybe golden boy or don king since they dont have a really good 140 pounder but he needs to stay away from Murad.

IDK if i'll agree with you but in fairness Murad's name just got stained because of the Pac issue a couple of months ago. IMO Murad still is one of the best up there as far as promoting boxers are concerned. If the issue of shortchanging will come up I have NO COMMENT.
