Desperation punch my ass! That was pure calculation! It looks like Team Williams is trying to create some doubt to get a third fight. However, if I were Williams, I would stay very far away from Martinez. I think the same thing happens again if they were to fight again. Martinez is way too smart and calculating for Williams to beat him now...

Maybe they lost Petersons phone number LOL.... he said no ones was "calling them" before or after the Martinez fights.
I think it's a bit funny that Peterson is talking like Williams is still "the most feared fighter".

Williams needs to get a new trainer - Sergio threw a perfect punch. Only Peterson's comment smacks of desperationComment

It's pretty annoying to hear Peterson call a fantastic knockout a lucky punch. The shot was perfectly timed with great percision as Sergio was moving back and letting Paul come forward he walked Williams right onto that shot which makes the punch even more devastating. The other thing i liked about the KO was that yeah maybe to the untrained eye it looked like Martinez maybe threw a blind shot but in the replays i noticed & you can clearly see that Sergio does twist his body and turn his head to the right but his eyes never leave Williams, he never takes his eye off him he was just twisting his body & turning his head so that he could get everything into that punch so yeah i pretty much agree with you guys Paul needs a new trainer.Comment

I'm generally not the type of person that likes to say that a fighter needs a new trainer just because of a loss but in this case it is obvious. When a trainer can't admit that his fighter lost because the opponent was simply better and able to figure out his weaknesses, he needs to go. A trainer with that kind of attitude is not going to help Williams overcome his flaws and make him into a better fighter. Williams needs to run from Peterson.Comment

many trainers delusional about own fighter
It strikes me as funny that trainers are often completely delusional about their fighters. I've talked to many that just see their guy as always the better guy. They come up with these ridiculous claims and excuses that make no sense at all. Martinez had that all they way and was going to beat Paul anyway - and by KO. The better trainers, like Roach, understand what the have and the probability of win against different fighters. Williams' trainer is simply ignorant.Comment

The most absurd thing out of all this is that that is the exact same punch Martinez landed in the first fight about 900 times.
Yet he got no credit for it from the judges and got robbed.Comment

Pwill was getting ko regardless did you see the first fight it was not luck sergio onws pwill if no tune up make martinez pwill or are you scaared to see that lucky punch again pwill dont want itComment

Yeah, that was an odd KO in the way that Williams looked. Most guys might have a body stiffening, an eye roll or uncontrolled breathing. Williams looked like a fish - no expression, almost the way he looks when he's alert.Comment
