Comments Thread For: Paul Williams' Trainer: Martinez's Punch Was Desperation

Former champion Paul Williams has split victories with the boxer most experts regard as one of the top three pound-for-pound fighters in the world, WBC middleweight king Sergio Martinez. Williams (39-2, 27 KO) won a close decision over Martinez (46-2-2, 25 KOs) in December 2009. Martinez got revenge in their November rematch, by knocking Williams out with a crushing hook in the second round.

Lol he's speaking as though the fight was like Graham vs Jackson.

Luck had nothing to do with Martinez win, the guy simply followed the script on how to deal with an individual that throws looping punches and doesn't know how to keep his hands up.

Despraration my azz. Martinez was landing that same punch all night. He caught Paul will and put him to sleep WITH his eyes wide the f-ck open.

Paul needs to dump his trainer. He is horrible. He talks **** and he not that good of a trainer(for pros at least). Just like Alexander's trainer.

Luck that Williams got hit by a punch he got hit by loads in the first and second fight lol? Williams has zero defence.. there was no luck/desperation about it. Martinez just landed it perfectly and Williams chin probably wasn't what it was from eating up a lot of abuse due to his leaky ass defence.

I think William's chin at 160 is weak. He needs to go back to his comfortable weight at 147 lbs. Im sure at 147 Paul beats Martinez easily.

Yeah, it's not like Martinez was nailing Williams with the same punch several times before the KO The 1st fight was a close one and the 2nd was a huge KO win for Martinez, he proved who the better fighter is.

Yes he would, because Martinez would be so drained at 147lbs that he'd collapse in the ring before the first bell.

Exactly. I guess it was luck that Sergio landed that punch many times before too then.
