hes the champion he has the belt he can petition the commission to schedule a fight earlier with dawson if necessary.

no commission likes to see 8 months go between fights..

that = no money for them.

man, Dawson fights are always scheduled at least 6 months away at the very earliest. I bet it will be pushed back too.

People kept rambling on about how good Chad Dawson was just because Hopkins didn't want to fight him. That is one of the things that caused people to overrate Dawson on this site. It wouldn't have suprised me to see Hopkins be able to beat that weak minded fighter right after he got done fighting Pascal that same night.

Dawson and Pascal are both average in my view. There were long stretches in the Dawson-Pascal fight of where Chad would let a smaller dude bully him around on the inside. I'm not saying that based on their fights with Pascal that Hopkins automatically beats Dawson. But why is it that people make Dawson the favorite when you look at fights against the common opponents each guy has fought from Tarver, Johnson, and Pascal Hopkins won more impressively everytime?

Lol. Tell me about it. He could've taken a fight in this time frame to stay active although I do understand he had to let that cut heal.

I was rooting for Dawson in the first fight, but now I'm hoping that Pascal retires him. C'mon, guys. We're boxing fans because we like to see the good fighters work their magic in the ring. Dawson, mayweather, haye, pavlik, etc have the goods but they're dissapointments because they're just a strangle hold on the division. dawson and pavlik single-handedly ruined their divisions by holding their titles hostage and taking excessive layoffs. now that they're gone, middle and light-heavy are suddenly interesting again. So what if Dawson beats Pascal in the rematch. Dawson-Tarver3 in 2012? Dawson-Johnson3 in 2013? Dawson-Hopkins in 2014? Pascal wouldn't do that. Neither would Tavoris Cloud, although he had the same inactivity issues in the past, he seems to be putting in his work now.

After that terrible decision Bhop shouldve gotten an immediate rematch.

What the **** is the hold up, it's just now Jan and he's talking May, why not March and have the Hopkins showdown in the summer?

He is going to avoid Bhop as long as possible. It makes sense for him but not for the boxing public.
