Indeed. Race car drivers, and I am talking about GT and F1 not NASCAR and bull**** like that loose up to 10killos a race.

It takes great conditioning to take 2 hours of 3g loads under braking cornering and acceleration.

Motorsports also require your head, you have to understand what the car is doing, how to treat it, watch the tires, watch the shifts everything.

Professional, high class motorsports are by far some of the toughest things you can do.

It stresses your body and mind. And is the most dangerous sport by far.

Ali was the greatest inside and outside the ring, he might not have been as athletically superior in his 30's as he was in his 20's but he was whuppin ass using new techniques, so watching him at 30 is amazing too.

The thing that impresses me the most about Muhammad is how great he was in his mid 30's. I don't know of any other modern heavyweight that has comparable speed. His defining fights took place in the twilight of his career. That is amazing to me.

He danced, he moved, he was big, he had stamina. He had charm and was a truly the greatest thing that every happened to boxing.

Truly the greatest to ever lace up a set of gloves IMOP.

He knocked out guys that had never been knocked out. He came back when he was supposed to be washed up.

Will there ever be anyone to compare to our beloved Ali?

Will honor come back to boxing? Will the heavyweight championship of the world someday be the greatest prize in all of sports?

Will greatness return to the ring? Somebody call me when it does.
            Fella, keep watching him!...

He may have had a BIG MOUTH but he certainly backed it up in the ring!!!!

Not only did he always make his mission to fight the best... He did it 2-3 times with each guy!

            Ali's a legend...

Ali is overrated based on what he did in the 70s,he lost three times to Frazier and he lost three times to Norton,he also went tooth and nail with former club fighter Wepner and lost to novice Leon Spinks.

But that was not Ali at his best, was the Rumble in the Jungle Ali at his best? Think again,he was being battered and looked petrified throughout. Not many people realise that you have to go all the way back to the SOnnly Liston fights to see Ali at his best, and I think he peaked against Cleveland Williams. Against Zora Foley,I thought he took alot of Foley right hands flush, but his devastating handspeed got him out of jail. He certainly was a fantastic fighter in the 60s. But overall, yes hes overrated!

All the guys you mentioned gave Ali all he could handle, and while he showed great heart in beating them, all he could muster was sporadic flashes of what he was in his twenties.

For those of us who watched him in his 30's it was a little sad actually. He had some tremendous fights (again, he won them on the strength of his heart, not his athleticism) against Foreman and Frazier, but after Thrilla he was basically a shot fighter.

On the other hand, if your point is that his heart was what made him great, you'll get no argument from me. Because in the 70's that was really his trump card, not his skills.

The point I'm trying to make about Ali in his 30's was that even when he was physically a little less than he was in his 20's, he still beat some stiff competition at an age when most speed and timing fighters are washed up.

I compare him to other fighters of today. Let's compare him to Roy Jones Jr. Have you seen Roy suck it up in the 15th round to knock a guy out when he's 34 years old? Nope

The only other fighter (modern) that I can think of that matches up to Ali in terms of grit and determination along with skill would be Roberto Duran.

Don't get me wrong, Ali should have hung up his gloves after he beat Frazier for the third time, and yes, he did get some gracious decisions in his old age, but you know, you have to whip the champ to take his title, not just pitty pat around. The only man to really whip Muhammad really well was Larry Holmes, and we all know that he had no business fighting even when he lost to Leon Spinx. You can argue for Ken Norton, who seemed to match up to Ali's style well. Without regards to other fighters, Muhammad took on all comers. He fought George, Frazier, Norton, Ron Lyle, Ernie Shavers. Who did he dodge? Nobody. He fought and beat the best more than anyone else.

As far as Muhammad losing to Foreman, someone must be watching a different fight than I am. He beat George Foreman pillar to post. When you hit a man with lead right hands all night, you are whipping his ass.

Frazier lost to Muhammad fair and square twice. When you don't get up to answer the bell, you are done.

Ali's greatest attribute was that he truly wanted to please the people that paid to watch him. He delivered excitement, showmanship and skill in the ring.

                Over rated? Hell No.

If he's over rated, then all fighters are over rated because he was the Lord of the ring and my hero.

                    he said himself

"usually when u lose to sum1 u tell urself, ' i wana get back in there n get my revenge' when they asked me do u want a rematch i said ' NO WAY'
