1857 hmmm I don't think you will find much before that. Queensbury Rules according to wiki started in 1865. Stuff before the 1850s was probably not really considered boxing.

Right, that bothered me some. Turns out, Morrissey ended up becoming a US Senator. I'm really glad I wasn't born in those times.
