In the Hoya fight, Manny was the red-hot favorite according to Freddie.....
" Oscar can't pull the trigger..... he will be weak at 147..... we got him ".
Hopkins was the underdog against Tarver, Calzaghe, Pavlik, Pascal, and you could even go back to Tito.
Hopkins is the best fighter of this era, no question about that.Comment

That was my point yesterday. Manny was the overwhelming favorite in every single fight except Hoya, and that fight was a total joke in hindsight.

As for Hopkins, I dont really remember but wasnt Wright favored vs Hopkins? Only fights I can remember Hop being favored in as of late was vs Ornelas and Jones.Comment

No, he wasn't. When I laid my money on Pacquiao my line was -210 I believe. Although I do remember the lines shrinking to -150 minutes before the fight (meaning people were pouring money on cotto in the last minute lol), which kind of pissed me off because I placed my bet like 3-4 hours before the fight LOLComment

But I will be honest with you..... I knew that he had a sniff against Pascal
And he won on my cards.
Cotto probably was favorite on the books, although that seems crazy in hindsight. Cotto had been battered by both cheato and Clottey, he had personal problems and no trainer to speak of, he most definitely was not on top of his game..... and then Team Pacquiao tried to drain him on the scales, which was unnecessary. Although that was a terrific performance by Manny, and easily his best win above 130.Comment

Officially? Good point, maybe, I'm not sure. But not by me, not at 170 vs Hopkins..... maybe that's because I've never been a huge Winky fan. But even after Tarver and Wright I still had doubts that he could beat Calzaghe or Pavlik..... and everybody said that Pascal would be too young and too fast for the ol man.

Cotto, I picked to beat Pac at the last minute (24/7 and its hype). Pullcounter tried to convince me otherwise but I picked Cotto last second. But yes, I agree it is his best win above 130 it's just too bad he demanded a catchweight and got to Cotto after Margarito. Either way I picked Cotto. The one and only other time I picked against Pac was vs JMM II.
Anyway as people can see Hop's always supposed to lose. Much like Mayweather before 2008, yet all of Europe had Hatton KO'ing Mayweather. That to me was a GREAT match up but over all Mayweather was the favorite over the undefeated Ricky Hatton. Pac as you can see is the wide favorite because yes he's that good but also because the fighters "picked" arent that great anymore or have looked like shyt for quit some time. Its not like he's fighting champions out there and the one time he did (Cotto) had to have some kind of advantage/"catch" to it.
Anyway we're way off topic.Comment

Yes, he was only a slight favorite though when the lines closed. I believe it was -150, at least from bodog anyways. Right now he's -750 on 5Dimes, which is uhhh... untouchable from a betting stand point LOL Although it probably doesn't matter since I'll be looking to put my money on the TKO/KO, which I hope is around 3-1 or 2-1.Comment
