It's because most of his body work is done during the clinches, and a lot of people tend not to notice. He's always been a great body puncher.

i've never heard anyone say that wifebeater is a bad body puncher or that he can't punch to the body.

it's a stretch to say that wifebeater's body punching is underrated.

Stellar post. I think that sums up Mayweather's "underrated" body punching in a nut shell. He never fights the same fight every time out. Some may require more body work then others.

When I think of Floyd's body shots. I think of the Gatti fight. Jesus Christ, any other JWW would of gone down. Much props to Gatti. Took a vicious beating in that fight.

That's where he landed most of those punches against Mosley. Very effective.

what? what i mean with basic strategy is every fighter goes to the body at some point in the fight...i'm not saying it's their main weapon to win the fight. that's when you can categorized a fighter as a body puncher when he goes to the body as one of his main weapon. did you watch mares-darchinyan? yeah mares won that one because of his body punching.

i don't know why you even have to bring up mosley. obviously he did not go to the body a lot in that fight...and neighter was floyd.

I beg to differ just because the punching to the body Mayweather did use during that fight was effective. No, he's not a body punching artist, but it is underrated.
