cortez has obviously ads, he wants to be a part of the fight even though his only job as a referee is to keep the fight clean.

I don't necessarily think he's dirty, but he is no longer a reliable referee. He seems to be "star struck" meaning everytime he ref's a fight with a star involved he becomes biased towards the star. But it is possible he is protecting fighters because he wants to work for certain promoters again, we have seen that often with judges.

I am a Khan fan also but as soon as I saw that Cortez was the ref for the fight I knew there would be controversy. You don't get a reputation for being a paid off bent ref for nothing. I have no doubt Golden Boy were stacking the deck in Khan's favor with Cortez and this has tarnished Khan's victory.

yup...n even though I know mayweather would've had hatton with any other ref, cortez sure made it easy for the 'star' mayweather...like the dude says above, I think he gets a bit starstruck and defends the bigger name...
