    Daniel Zaragoza=Vic Darchinyan?

I've just watched the Morales-Zaragoza(great fight). I Couldn't help but think of Vic during the fight.

I see that the Morales fight is his last fight.

Can people tell me more about his early career?

Did he evolve as a fighter?

Or did he always fight this way?

He always fought that way, He was two or three time world champion, He had an awkward fighting style but he was always well conditioned and threw a lot of punches, He was pretty much washed up when Morales took the belt from him, If not mistaken i believe he had won that belt by beating Wayne McCullough,I dont know if i spelled that last name right, but you know who im talking about!!

Well for starters Zaragoza was humble lol. And a great boxer; high activity, very sound - not great in any one particular category but solid all around. Seemed to get better with age and the win over McCollough was pretty impressive. Morales, then 21, was just too much for him at that stage but even then, Zaragoza gave him a hell of a fight. I don't see much similarities between him and Darchinyan to be honest other than both had bad barbers.

        Thanks.

Do you think the Darchinyan comparison is fair?

        Both are very awkward.

          Thanks for the feedback.

I was only comparing the boxing style.

The both gear up the left hand and throw it in a weird manner.

When you watched it you think "damn that should be easy to dodge".

          Yet they land it consistently.

Just in the way they lunged sometimes when throwing punches, but other than that not really, Vic has much more power, Zaragoza was a volume puncher!! Thats what started the whole Barrera vs Morales beef because barrera was a good friend of Zaragoza and trained in the same gym in Mexico city. When Morales beat Zaragoza Barrera was pissed and called out Morales for beating his friend and idol up!!

              Interesting.

              Didn't know that.

No wonder they hate each other so much.

I just thought it was just their competitiveness.

Re-watching some of the Vic-Mares stuff and comparing the video with the Morales fight.

Your right its just the way they lung.

              Case closed.

              Thanks.

He trained Rafael Marquez for his last 2 fights.

And, for years was an assistant to Nacho Beristan who was his trainer when he was fighting.
