    Frank Warren feeling the heat???

Frank Warren is threatening to take legal action against any promoters trying to tempt Ricky Hatton away from the Sports Network stable.

The Hitman is believed to be wanted by the leading lights in the United States after it was revealed he is yet to sign a new deal with Warren.

He insists he is a free agent following his famous win over Kostya Tszyu in June which has rocketed him in to the public spotlight on the other side of the Atlantic.

Warren claims there is already an agreement in place and although he does not want a legal battle with Hatton and his camp, he has made it clear he will not tolerate any approaches for the 26-year-old's services.

"It has recently come to the attention of Sports Network Limited that a number of third parties claim to be in discussions or negotiations with Punch Promotions (Actions) in order to acquire the boxing services of Ricky Hatton (Parties)," said a statement from Sports Network.

"In fact, Sports Network, through letters written by its solicitors, have already placed a number of parties on formal notice of impending legal action.

"In light of the above, Sports Network hereby places all other Parties or individuals on notice of its agreement with Punch Promotions for the exclusive boxing services of Ricky Hatton for a number of further fights (Agreement).

"Accordingly, any such approach or attempt by any such Party to discuss the boxing services of Ricky Hatton with Punch Promotions and or Ricky Hatton its/his agents or representatives would constitute an attempt to induce a breach of the Agreement and be an unlawful interference of Sports Networks rights.

"To the extent that any Party fails to stop any of the Actions complained of, Sports Network will not hesitate to take all necessary action against any such Party to protect its interests arising from the Agreement."

He has been saying this lots, and he probably will carry out his actions, but i dont know anythingabout the contract. I hear it terminates soon, in which case i dont think Frank's case will stand on any solid ground at all, in my opinion.

Unless Warren has Hattons signature signed on a contract extension or a new contract nothing can be done if promoters are just "talking" to Hatton or if he is a free agent and promoters are coming to him. That is what a free agent is able to do....Warren is upset his meal ticket wants to fight in the U.S. but he knows better and would rather make bigger bucks fighting the Maussas and the Whitters in Manchester...Not bad by any means business wise but that is what Warren is in it for.....Warren needs to quit whining like a little ***** and let his meal ticket fight overseas...Mayweather/Hatton/EVERYBODY BUT WARREN wants that fight.

I agree... I think Frank Warren is getting very nervous, and when the current contract expires he won't be able to stop Ricky going else where.

As a Ricky Hatton fan this isn't bad news... If the big U.S. promoters are all sniffing around Hatton, that can only mean they see Ricky boy as a very profitable venture.

Big U.S. promoters wont invest millions of U.S. $$$$$$$ into a foreign fighter that they think might lose soon.

I agree with what you just said there. But i am a fan of Warren's style. I think the way he slowly gets his fighters to step up the opposition is better than what some other promotors do. Look when Naz set up "Prince Promotions" - and then got nowhere. Frank Warren has the name to get big fights. But i think it could be dangerous sending Hatton into any fights that could possibly ruin his perfect record.

Nah, Hatton needs to be thrown in there with the best now!

He's 39-0-0 and he's not gonna get any better than he currently is. If he's not ready now, he'll never be ready.

I'm not a fan of fighters that protect the precious "0" by fighting lame opposition... I really don't mind if fighters have "L's" next to their name. I'll always be a huge fan of guys like Morales/Barrera/Pacquiao even though they've all lost in the last 2-3yrs.

I like seeing the best against the best.

If Hatton wants to make a legacy for himself he's gonna need to start now. Maussa's and Witter's won't build a legacy... Mayweather's and Corrales's will.

              You make some good points.

I wasnt talking long term, i was talking short term.

Im thinking along the lines of fight Maussa to keep busy, then move on to either Cotto or Mayweather. Then move up to Corrales whenever Mayweather has been defeated.

              So i say:
              1)Maussa soon!
              2)Mayweather.
              3)Corrales.

**If mayweather does his normal thing and takes too much time perhaps add another fight between the 1) and 2) fight and then go to Mayweather. So i see it as Mayweather in 2-3 fights at absolute maximum.

I hope that Hatton doesn't have to wait around for too many big fights. I'm not keen on Hatton having tune up fights because of the type of fighter he is.

He's 26yrs old and is smack **** in the middle of his prime right now. With his fast paced, agressive style he's not gonna be around for too long... (His style of fighter never are, they rely on their youth, strength. and stamina).

I would say - If Ricky Hatton wants to make an impact and secure his legacy, he needs to fight as many big names and win before he reaches the age of 29-30yrs, coz' I'm pretty sure when that time approaches he'll lose that edge that youth gives him at the moment.

                  I agree 100%.

If the fights cant be made however, what i said is ideal for him in my opinion. Fights to keep the ring rust off, gain more experience, so come Mayweather he is at his best.

You hold Corrales above Mayweather? Also Mayweather wants the fight on the 12th but it was Hattons camp who said No we need another year and turned it down twice.....

Hattons side is holding off that fight not Mayweather.
