Comments Thread For: Omar Narvaez-Jesus Ruiz in Play For February Clash

There are ongoing talks to finalize a clash between WBO super flyweight champion Omar Andres Narvaez (32-0-2, 19KOs) and Jesus "Estrellita" Ruiz (24-3-2, 18KOs). Ruiz won the interim WBC Latino bantamweight title in November with a dominating twelve round decision over Julio David Roque Ler. The Narvaez vs. Ruiz clash is tentative for February 12 in Monte Hermoso, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Omar Andrés Narváez has some good wins. He beat Luis Alberto Lazarte, Carlos Tamara, a prime Andrea Sarritzu, Brahim Asloum, and Rayonta Whitfield. It is just his last 3 fights that he fought 3 journeyman. Jesus Ruiz is another journeyman. But at bantamweight. Not at super flyweight. Maybe he just wants an easy debut fight at bantamweight. Hopefully, after Ruiz he'll fight someone better.

Narvaez is good fighter with very good skills..He reminds a bit of Calderón but with more pop in his punches..It's a shame he doesn't get any exposure in this part of the world...

the nar-dog is the truth! 16 title defenses and he just moved up and won another belt in a new division. he doesn't just hide at home like some title holders. he's defended his belt in spain, france, and italy and he crushed the undefeated hyped american rayonta whitfield. all he needs is a faded legend to cement his legacy. this guy is an all time great.

Ruiz has fought at both 115 and 118. I think this is for Narvaez's WBO super-flyweight crown. Narvaez hasn't fought in almost eight months and hopefully this is a tune-up fight. I'd like to see him in with Cazares in Mexico in 2011
