Williams vs Pacquiao @ WW: What fights should PWill take so this would make sense....

    at WW?

Now I know this will open up a bunch of flaming but hopefully I can get a few intelligent replies here.

I have always felt that this was the most exciting fight that could be made at WW....even making several threads about it months ago.

Unfortunately Williams got brutally KO'd, setting this fight back, so what fights does Williams have to take to re-establish himself as a player at WW? Also how long as I'm aware that even after one win, most will still name the excuse that he is shot.

Personally if he can get a belt, beat someone like Berto, then that should be enough IMO to say the punisher is officially back.

I don't think Williams is a factor at all at this point. The most dangerous fighter for him at 147 at this point is probably Berto, but to be honest I don't even think Williams could win that fight. Martinez ruined him bro. And on top of that, Goosen is gonna keep him away from guys that can punch probably here on out even though they'd take a Pac fight. But what has Manny got to gain by fighting him?

      - fight a tune up at 154 lbs
      - beat martinez in a rematch at 160 lbs
      - come back to 147 and beat berto or wifebeater jr

I think fighting at 154 is his best weight right now. I think he should take a tune up fight and then maybe get back in the ring with Cintron, Then maybe a fight with Cotto. I think any amount of time at WW might be to hard on his body.

going up and down in weight i think is not a good thing for williams. i believe his most comfortable weight right now is at 154. if he tries to get a fight and win at welter to get a pac ticket, i can only think of berto that makes sense but i don't think al haymon will put his 2 guys to fight each other at this point. williams can find a good competition at 154 to get his confidence back. he doesn't need to chase pac...it would be futile as he has lagged behind so much with that brutal ko loss against martinez.

There is really nothing he can do at 147,nobody there wanted any part of him!!If he can get someone lucky enough to believe that the power of a middleweight is as little as the power of a welterweight, then he's got a shot, but welterweight is the weakest it has been in years,he'll have to beat a real solid opponent at 154,like Cotto,or Dzinziruk,or maybe he can get away with K-9!!
