Now that Pac/Mosley is signed, should we support it for boxing's sake?

When Shane had Floyd reeling in round two, I was as excited as I'd ever been watching a boxing match. My heart was POUNDING. I thought we were on the brink of history. I certainly can't say that about Manny/Clottey or the Margarito fight. Those fight's outcome were not in doubt from the word go. And they proved to be lop-sided borefests. At least Shane brought excitement early on, and Floyd put on a boxing clinic afterward. Now, take the Floyd/Marquez fight. I didn't even watch it live. It was obviously a mismatch from the get-go. Therefore, the fight didn't deserve my hard-earned money. I say, watch the fight, yes. But watch it at a bar, or on a stream. Because, quite frankly, Mosley is a lamb being lead to slaughter. There's ZERO percent chance he wins this fight. Just like I said about the Margarito fight when it was announced. And TBH, that fight was even more of a sham, because Margarito didn't deserve the payday after the stunt he pulled. Top Rank is a bunch of crooks. Pure and simple. Which is why I support Floyd. He could have fought Margarito in 2006 for $8million, but didn't. He chose to fight Baldomir instead for $8,000,001 just to stick it to Arum.

And good for him for doing so! Arum is a shyster, pure and simple!
    Excellent post.

Exactly. But people are showing their hypocrisy. Margarito got the shot by losing to Shane. Hence, anyone who was ok with Pacquiao-Margarito should be ok with Pacquiao-Mosley.

But see........boxing in it's purest form DOES support us. There's NOTHING that gets me as pumped as a good ole' fashioned slobber-knocker! NOTHING ELSE IN SPORTS! But "prize-fights" like these are a disgrace. Even a fight like Mayorga/DLH was worth it, because at LEAST the entertainment value was there. I mean...........Clottey/Pacquiao? Come on! That's a disgrace!

And they will be. Because they just accept anything Manny does in the ring. Which is pathetic. Why is Manny fighting Floyd's leftovers at this stage of the game? Shane was "too good" only a couple of year(s) ago, but now suddenly he's a credible challenger? After Floyd worked him? (And probably put a TON of wear on his body) It's a clear money-grab of a fight. Like I said though, at least it's not as bad as Pac/Marg. That fight was A DISGRACE. (Even more so, because it was for a 154lbs "title", and was fought at a catch weight of 150lbs.) Stuff like this gives boxing a black eye.

Thank you! But posts like that automatically make u a "*****". Quite frankly, I could give a care about Floyd. I care about what's good for boxing. And Bob Arum/Top Rank CLEARLY, are not good for boxing. Why do you people think Oscar started Golden Boy? Because people like Bob Arum and Don King ARE CROOKS. Who ruin boxing just by being associated with it! I support ANYONE who sticks it to Arum.

To add further: I appreciate, that you appreciate the time I take to make such posts. I'm in the red (karma, or whatever it is?) yet I write (ahem) masterpieces like this. I'll admit, I've had quite a few bad ones too, but it's because these "boxing fans" get on my nerves so much. I've been watching boxing since 1996 when I was 11 years old. I should know the game by now.

Someone's gonna support it, obviously. I won't be included in that statistic though.

I always watch prize fights. I will watch this one. I am relatively new to boxing so I don't want to miss anything.

THEN DON'T MISS IT! Just don't PAY for it! Why pay for a fight when the outcome is clear as day? We all know Manny is gonna' DESTROY a 40 year old Mosley! What's worse? Is that there WON'T BE RANDOM OST! Both these guys could be roided up to the GILLS, and get away with it (as Mosley already has done in previous fights, which he ADMITTED.) This is not what boxing is ALL ABOUT. Boxing is about PROFESSIONALISM! Boxing is an OLYMPIC SPORT! Let's keep the sport's integrity in check! If you pay for this fight, you're basically saying, "I want to see a 40 year old man make millions of dollars for getting his ass kicked on pay-per-view." For instance: I wasn't alive when Ali/Holmes happened. But Ali took the fight because he was promised $8million for the fight, which was UNHEARD OF at the time. (1980.) Holmes was 31 years old, and Ali was 38 years old. Holmes was CLEARLY the better fighter, and Ali stood NO CHANCE what so ever from the get-go. Ali probably KNEW this............but money talks. What happened? Ali got whooped BADLY, and probably now suffers from brain damage due to this and the Berbick fight. Now, I'm only 25 years old, and these fights were before my time..........but why should a legend go out like that for a payday? Same thing could happen here with Mosley. Don't pay for this fight. It's a sham.

I consider myself a Pac fan, and Im pretty pissed that he's fighting Shane. Like others have said, if we support this farce of a fight than whats to stop Arum to do this all over again later this year or to all the top rank fighters for that matter. Old man Arum knows he's not going to be around for much longer thus milks the sport dry. In only hurts the entire sport in the long run.
                      Just stream this one folks.
