Arum "Sold" Manny on Fighting Mosley

I find it extremely surprising that so many people have bought into the lie that Arum simply "laid-out" all of Manny's options on the table and granted him the "free option" of selecting his opponent w/ out Bob first giving his best spiel on why he should contend with Mosley..

When Arum told the public that he was simply going to let Manny "choose," that was nothing more than a salesman's method of sleight of tongue for "During my conversation with Manny, I'll subtly entice him to choose Mosley over Berto and Marquez so that when it's all over with, my hands end up clean, with Manny taking the majority of the blame after wards."

Please keep in mind that Arum is one of the best salesmen in world and he'll do anything to save his own tail while making what "appears to be" a legitimate profit at the same time.

But ultimately, his plan worked out and Manny did make the final decision, so it's only right for Manny take most of the blame, despite how deceptive Arum may have come across during his meeting with Manny.

After all of the heat that Manny will be getting in the next few months or so, I'm hoping he'll realize that he's been taken advantage of and that it's okay for him to make "changes" without the fear of anything getting personal.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and God Bless!

its obvious that pac would've fought whoever paid the most money. arum stacked the cards in mosley's favor for obvious reasons.

You people need to quit this Arum this and that and make Pac the victim. He's just as bad too.

Yeah, he might've "sold" Pacquiao on Mosley but are you implying that the Congressman is an idiot or something? Like he can't think for himself? That he hasn't been doing this long enough to already know the pros and cons of all three "choices?" Please stop. Manny's not dumb, the people who actually think anyone other than Mosley (someone they chose days after the Margarito bout) was even considered are the dumb ones.

I'm not crazy about the Mosley fight but some of you guys make it sound like there is a clear and definite other option out there that is leaps and bounds better and that this other option would pose to be a much more threatening opponent than Mosley.

Let's face it, there are pros and cons to all 3 options.

It's strange they seem to talk about Mayweather and stuff but pacquaios fights seem set up before he even faces his current opponent..

Cotto Pac was setup up quickly after hatton/pac aslong as Cotto managed to get past Clottey
Clottey was pretty much a wrap after Cotto fight
Margarito was pretty much done straight after Clottey (margs even said that Arum promised him pac fight)
Mosley was confirmed as a likely opponent a couple of weeks after Margarito..

I don't believe they have actively gone after a fight with Mayweather like they seem to claim. Don't get me wrong Mayweather hardly seems eager right now to pursue a fight with Pac.. but then again he is not claiming otherwise.

How can Clottey pretty much a wrap to face Pac when there was a Pac-Mayweather negotiatons going on. Only in late december or early january that Pac-Clottey was announced.

If I was a promoter, I would be thinking ahead too. Kind of makes sense to me. I guess not to you.

He has always said, if Floyd becomes available then he is first on the list. Was Arum wrong about that statement? Floyd said he is not interested in Manny and prefers an extended vacation. Again, this was Floyd's statement not Arum's. The Manny haters were saying BEFORE the Margarito fight was signed that Arum could have waited longer, what's the rush. Now again the same with Mosley ..... but would it really make a difference? Did you hear something from Floyd that the rest of us missed?

You have to have your options or else you are not going to be a good promoter.
