You right Caba is a nobody, he was just unified champion and ranked in the top 2 at 122 during the same time Juanma was there. Exactly he is a nobody an easy fight.

The point of the TS is don't say "who is Caballero" "he is a nobody" "he brings nothing to the table" but then turn around and fight the Lontchi, Mtagwa, and Kennedy of the worlds.

I'm with you that he has had tough fights, deserves a pass here. Lets see what he does after this before we really criticize him. But, lets not get it twisted he avoided Caballero...Is the truth he ducked Caba and gave lame excuses.

Checked his fights out on youtube...he looks pretty good.

Hes very well schooled, and does good performances, and has a load of nasty knockouts, but no hype around him since he is with Miguel Cotto promotions. Next year he should become a champion.

Im not mad about him fighting a showcase fight in PR but im mad about him making a bull**** ***** ass excuse up not to fight Cab a guy who wasnt even that good. I have been to a few Juanma fights and always supported but this **** disgusts me.

Caballero is elite level opposition for chump change he isn't an easy fight for chump change, Caba would have stood to gain while Juan Ma took all the risk which is why he said Celestino has to increase his stock, this is the same problems Williams had because nobody with anything to lose wanted to fight him, they were taking on basically an elite level fighter with non elite level pay, he wasn't known enough for them to HAVE TO fight him and they didn't..

Caballero is a threat no doubt but Juan Ma doesn't fear him, it's just why take 6 digits from Caballero when you can get 7 for Marquez, Gamboa, Vasquez etc? they all world class except the other guys bring in more money than Caballero does, Boxing is not just about hitting and not getting hit it's also about trying to get the most out of it as you can each time you lace up those gloves, this is why they fight so hard because they want to become bigger and at this point for Juan Ma a Celestino Caballero fight is a step back not fourth, he's better off going for Gamboa who would bring out a crowd

The thing is Lopez proves what every non-biased fan has been saying is right by fighting a guy who is worse than Caballero probably in reality. Look at the Dawson-Hopkins situation. He somewhat vindicated himself not fighting Chad to a certain extent by fighting the guy who beat Dawson in his backyard. If Lopez just keeps fighting bums and washed up fighters, the ducking he pulled on Caballero is just gonna hold more weight even after we saw Caballero lose to a C level fighter in Litzau.
