All in house fights so they're not sick of it.

It all depends on who Martinez opponent is to know if they made the right choice or not.
Originally posted by sicko View PostHopefully HBO does this more and stop all the BS that is going on in boxing and try to force these Promoters hands a lot more in 2011 and make them give the fans the match ups they WANT! So Vanes is a bigger draw then someone like Berto??? I DON'T THINK SO! Vanes hasn't done ****! He just so happen to be with Top Rank just like Cotto

The right thing would host a double header.
The right thing would see who Martinez opponent is going to be before making such a decision.

Look at it from their perspective.......they don't need boxing. HBO is a subsidiary of Time Warner i believe.....they could wind up the whole boxing division and it wouldn't hurt them at all. It's a miniscule part of their earnings.
They are the ones who syndicate fights....here they have offered Bob two ooptions they prefer.....Bob shoots them both down and still expects them to come in with open arms for the one he wants. There is a reason the price tag is cheap at $1.5 million.......had he asked for more it would be another slap in the face.

Bob Arum is going to be OK, TR is going to be OK, Cotto is going to be OK, They will not be phased by this at all. They have independent PPV's, they have a deal with Fox Sports Net, they have resources. Because, like it or not they do their job when other promoter fails to. However, what is Goosen going to do? What is Dibella going to do? What are their fighters going to do?
This is not about sticking it to Arum, this is about HBO has to get their **** together and get ratings. I understand trying to push Martinez. But, that is why you put on a double header. You showcase Martinez to the numbers that Cotto brings. But, they're too ****** to do that. Ross Greenburg is a crappy bossman.
