First of all, Manny isnt forcing anyone to buy his fights. Either you wait a week or stream it. I myself will stream this fight.

Secondly I really don't consider the Margarito and Clottey fight as mediocre fights. Sure the end result looked like a tune-up but it's not in anyway. Pac's 3K Battery, Velasquez, Solis and maybe Diaz are the real tune-ups/mediocre...these fighters are journeymen or way below level of Pac. We are so used to Pac fighting high level fighters that the slightest criticism we see from his next opponent gives haters a reason to call his opponent a bum or a tune up fight. In reality these are Champions and former Champions who are also elites that nobody can beat them except other elites.

Honestly guys, nothing will ever change until the governing bodies and promoters learn to take care of their fighters outside of the ring. I'm good friends with several professional fighters and even they will tell you that often times, they have to put themselves first over the fans if it means maximizing their financial gain. These guys have families to feed and fighters don't get pension or retirement plans nor do they even get medical insurance. That all comes out of their pockets and they only get paid when they fight. What happens when an NBA player gets injured? He gets his full salary and a courtside view. When a boxer gets injured, he gets nothing.

Obviously guys like Pacman and Mayweather have made more than ridiculous amounts of money and it would be great if they would focus more on quality opponents rather than the most profitable fight, but the only way to change this behavior is if the governing bodies, promoters, and managers make their fighters feel assured that they will be reasonably protected if they take on the biggest challenges.

WTF Mosley isnt even a top 50 welterweight right now

I left those out because there's no doubt in that time regarding Pac's agenda. He fought the best, period.

                LOL good nailin' mate!

On these boards, every boxer needs to face whoever they think would be the toughest. And every other boxer who has a loss is already shot.

Legacy, if it was for the hardcore fans, no boxer would ever get on the boxing hall of fame but be accused of ducking and cherry picking. It's rare that you see hardcore boxing fans give any credit to a fighter. Casual fans? Of course. They are the ones who give all the credit and praise the fighter.
If there were not hardcore fans there would not be casual fans we are the promoters for our sport,we no longer have the main stream advertising we once had,now if theres a commercial for a ppv its usually at two in the morning following a 900 number commercial.
