What was the Best Era of Boxing?

My dad was just telling me how much better the Welterweights in the 1980's were and how much more exciting Boxing was there and I was just wondering what is considered the Best Time Period in Boxing. I think today is pretty exciting there are a lot of good fighters today it is just how making the big fights and pitting the best fighters in against each other.

I grew up with boxing in the 90's - so I'll say that decade. It was certainly an era of personalities. There were no generic talents like there are today, everyone seemed unique in their own way.The prospects that came through all looked like they were going to amount to something really special one day.

The 1980's probably was the greatest in terms of overall talent. So many great fights took place during that decade, and there were so many great fighters competing - and against one another, too.

Everything today just seems dull in comparison.

Cool thanks man yeah I think Boxing in the 90's was pretty awesome. My dad was telling me how a young Mike Tyson he never saw a fighter that the world simply thought that was just completely indestructible. Julio Cesar Chavez was the man too.

I heard him talking to you about boxing earlier, I agree with you guys, I'd go with the 90's.

It depends what weight-class you're talking the 80's was a great era for WWs. Especially the first half of the decade.

However, that first half the HW division was not such a good era.

90-97 was a great HW era, the best HW era IMO was 1965-1975...Just so many top HWs fought in thought time line.

Then you had the bantamweight golden era in the 20's, even now the Bantamweight era is pretty good. Is the best division right now. Matter of fact you can always count on the bantamweights to be a very interesting/good division.

80's and 90's were entertaining to say the least.

              This era is craaaaazy soft.
