It's a good point. They did build Manny to stardom by walking in Floyd's footsteps fighting Oscar and Hatton back to back. Their aim was to beat those two fighters in a more impressive fashion than Floyd did to make Manny look like a more worthy p4p fighter than Floyd. However, they did not consider how broken and drained they were when Manny beat them (as Roach pointed out). On top of that they had plenty of film to watch of Floyd exposing their weaknesses to build on. They wont admit it but they were in direct competition with Floyd after the Diaz fight.
