Unbeaten junior middleweight contender Vanes Martirosyan advised BoxingScene.com that he's ready and willing to challenge WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez on March 12 at the WaMu Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. As previously reported, Martinez is having some trouble locking down an opponent for his next fight, which is going to be televised on HBO. Vanes is ready to solve those problems, but the fight would still need approval from HBO, and the network is playing hardball with the final selection of Sergio's opponent.

Vanes is a good fighter, I think he needs more time to grow as a fighter if he really wants to have a chance in the bigger picture. right now he is too inexperienced to compete with Sergio, I think Sergio will pick him apart little by little over 12 and win an easy decision especially if the fight is at Middleweight, Vanes is tough so I do not see him getting stopped but he wont find an answer over 12.

in time though that may change, Vanes has a good frame for a 154lb fighter, if he can tune up his offense and work more on his jab he may stand a chance against Sergio but that would take A LOT more time than what he would have if he was Sergio's next fight
