Because they didn't have the superior great jab and the discipline to keep using it at all times. When you're tall, use it to the full extent. Otherwise your height can be used against you and become a liability. Tall fighters with long reach are physically not capable of being good inside fighters. I wouldn't expect Wlad to trade uppercuts or bodyshots with anybody on the inside with those long arms of his. Not the game of a 6'7 guy.
Bodypunching is for small fighters, big fighters don't need to dig down, all they need is to learn to keep smaller opponents at bay and pepper them from a safe distance, and have the stamina to do it.
Wlad has alll of these things. So fine, Wlad hasn't fought anybody like Mike before, I get it. But lets not pretend that Mike has fought a Wlad Klitschko in his prime, he hasn't. The only thing that came close to Wlad were Buster and Lennox Lewis, but we all know that doesn't count because MIke wasn't the 100% prime best that was busting up journeymen in the early 1980's.

This thread proves that Tyson is the most overrated heavyweight of all time.
1. Tyson was KTFO by Buster Douglas, Kevin McBride, Danny Williams, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield.
2. Tyson struggled against tall fighters.
3. That bum Douglas laid the blueprint to beat Tyson.
4. Tyson had poor stamina, only dangerous early, would always fade.
5. Tyson was mentally weak, if things didn't go his way, he would fold like a cheap tent.
The ridiculously overrated Tyson gets destroyed by either Klitschko.Last edited by Steelhammer2011; 12-23-2010, 12:28 AM.Comment

Both Klit brothers are more disciplined than Tyson could ever be, if Tyson doesnt KO them early, he would get destroyed. Tyson didnt have the best stamina, and once the fight got to the middle rounds he was gassed and desperate vs TOP competition. Tyson would have jabs in his face and right hands all night. He would have to knock them out early and press the issue and impose his speed and power early IMO
Agreed.
Mike Tyson is also a bully, he likes to see fear in his opponents eyes. Just imagine Wlad Klitschko staring at him from the opposite corner. For God sake, Wlad is the real life version of Ivan Drago when it comes to cold look, he barely blinks during the introductions.
That's what Lewis did when he fought MIke. Granted MIke was past it but so was Lewis. The huge, huge difference from the get-go was, Lewis wasn't intimidated and it was Tyson who got intimidated a bit not smelling any fear on Lennox.Comment

You're a pathetic ******ed troll.
The Purrity fight was 13 YEARS AGO. That's like bringing up Pacquiao's KO losses. It's totally irrelevant.
Wlad was only 21, only weighed 225 lbs and had never gone past 6 rounds....He dominated the fight and beat the shit out of Purrity for 11 rounds, but he punched himself out in the process, ran out of gas and collapsed from exhaustion. Vitali destroyed Purrity.
Wlad has a big heart and his chin is underrated, he hasn't been down or hurt in almost 6 years. He has never been KO'd, only TKO'd, he always has the heart to get up and beat the count, unlike your hero Lennox Lewis, who was KTFO twice and failed to beat the counts.

Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis
THE TRUTH
Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.
Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round. Lewis was getting outboxed, outworked, outlanded and was hurt several times in the fight.
punches landed
Vitali 156
Lewis 102
Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.
All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.
Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.
Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.
Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.
Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"
Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"
Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.
