my ppoint is that bhop gets plenty of credit for taking on those two (and roy) because they were all undefeated young guns. You said bhop only did that when he was old so that invalidated my argument. which is not true.

he wasn't considered old for those fights.

oh yea, not to mention felix trinidad was about 40-0 when they fought.

I wish floyd would stop being a vagina too, but under no circumstances is shane the answer. the money argument is weak, the "who else deserves it" argument is weak, and the "no other legacy fights" argument is weak

      Because it's Pacquiao.

The only people that would have a legit chance at 147 are PBF and PW. Anyone else and Pac is a 5-1 favorite at minimum.

Now lets see if pacman decides to fight Berto at welterweight? We all know deep down, that even thought berto is powerful and talented, pacman would eat him without any difficulty. Pacman smokes marquez with ease as well, Marquez is not the same fighter, where as pacman is so many levels above than when they first fought. Now the only other possible challenge is to go to light middle and fight Cotto Or martinez? We all see what he did to cotto, I love Cotto but we all know the same result would happen again if they fought at light middle. As for martinez he is probably too big for Pacman and i dont think roach will want him to fight against another big guy again.

What i am saying is, even though we all know mosely is old and probably past it...he is still decent oposition considering manny's options. Mayweather isnt gonna fight him, there isnt much else out there for him to fight.

What does Pac get out of this fight besides a lot of money,He'll get more money and prestige fighting "MONEY".

"he was old" was mentioned because I thought u were referring to the later stage of his career where he schools certain 'youngsters'.

I see where you're coming from, but there's a slight mistake there in comparing Pacquiao with Bhop. As a reigning Middleweight champ for a long period....Hopkins obviously gets more critical looks at his defences specifically. That's his legacy, his long reign of defences. (and the fact that he kicks ass at such an old age). Pac's legacy is totally different, it is based on moving up in weight in an extreme way.

And that fight generated 800k PPV buys...why would Team PAC fight another no name(Berto, Bradley etc) when a fighter with a name (Shane) is available and would increase their PPV buy rate to over a million?

Its all about the moolah now. ;P

pac's weight rise is similar to bhop's age defiance. However bhop can also lay claims to the mw defense record.

I guess I'm old school but I find total dominance of a weight class then taking challenges at different weight classes (against lineal champs and undefeated guys) a lot more impressive than cherry picking titlists to get more belts at more weights.

I've never been a big fan of belts at different weights unless they were won agains the best of that division and defended.

mosley is the biggest threat, people just dont wanna see him fight pacquiao. jmm would be a more dangerous fight if it was at 135.

I so agree with this, I made a thread about it a while ago actually, but no one responded lol.

In terms of challenge I think given the guys that were in the mix (Mosley, Berto, Marquez 140) I think they are all about equal, the difference here is Mosley is a free agent allowing for more ease free negotiations. We all know how Arum likes to keep it in house, well this is just as appealing to him.

Having said that, I am not really keen on it, however its could be a entertaining tear up.
