Would love to see a unification fight between Martinez & Dmitry Pirog although I don't know if HBO would accept that.

To be honest, other than Felix Sturm I don't know if there are any 'names' that the American boxing public would recognise & the De La Hoya loss was almost 7 years ago.

I don't understand how the Dzinziruk-Martinez potential fight fell apart. Miscommunication between the promoters? The Middleweight division isn't very good. But Martinez needs to fight somebody. That's why if HBO were to really narrow it down to only Martinez being able to fight Pirog, Dzinziruk, and Golovkin and he tried to weasle out of it, that would be a blatant duck. I am kind of glad HBO is trying to excercise some quality control.

Martinez needs to suck it up and keep fighting the best in the division. HBO aint gonna give him any free rides like they are willing to do with Pacquiao, Berto, and occasionally Cotto. He needs to realize that.

HBO is a goddamn joke. Seth Greenberg is a ****** piece of **** who knows nothing about boxing and only knows how to count money.

They are basically punishing Martinez because they have no choice but to put on a bunch of bull**** cards featuring GBP fighters. Because they are so busy paying GBP for bum fights they cannot allow a non GBP fighter to fight anyone but the best because they are the only chance HBO has at putting on a fair fight.

As of now, all of this talk is speculation and here say, not any legitimate source has commented on the matter. Zbik is clearly the best opponent, however, he beat a hyped prospect whom I didn't think much of anyhow. HBO is scapegoating Martinez because they have made so many terrible fights this year with their GBP output deal that they can't afford to let Martinez fight anyone but a name brand fighter.

Andre Berto can fight Freddy Hernandez, but Martinez who has delivered 5 consecutive awesome performances on the network can't be allowed to fight Andy Lee or Sebastian Zbik?

My guess is he ends up fighting Winky Wright or Craig McEwan... lol... that way HBO can jerk off the GBP pen*s and get Sergio a date at the same time.
