Mayorga hilarious I could easily see a different side of Cotto emerging in this fight because Mayorga does a great job of getting under opponents skin although it doesn't prevent him from getting his ass kicked haha... Rather see Cotto vs Margarito although i could see this fight being saved for Mexican Independence weekend!
Cotto-Margarito will happen. They are just giving time to Marg to heal.

No way cotto fights margarito and martinez in the same year

It's either Wolak or Mayorga, I pick Mayorga. It'll be more entertaining and the press conference will make me excited to watch the fight.

            2010 Mayorga back in Nicaragua

            By Gabriel F. Cordero

Upon his arrival in Managua, Nicaragua, former two-division world champion Ricardo Mayorga announced that he has signed a contract to challenge WBA super welterweight world champion Miguel Cotto, with the bout possibly landing in Las Vegas on March 12. Mayorga has also been mentioned as a possible challenger for WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm on February 19 in Stuttgart, Germany. It was the first time Mayorga has been in his native country in nearly four years due to legal problems. “I dreamed for many months of returning to my country. I am very happy to return to Nicaragua, and I thank God, my mother, but most of all President Daniel Ortega for having supported me,” said the 37-year-old Mayorga, who in his first bout in over two years stopped Michael Walker in round nine Friday night in Miami.

In other Mayorga news, the boxer has flatly denied the truth of a Wikileaks cable that alleged that Mayorga agreed to publicly support Ortega and give a large portion of his earnings to the Sandinista National Liberation Front in exchange for making a 2004 **** charge go away. “Absolutely not true,” Mayorga stated.

As a cotto fan I don't want to see mayorga. If it's at 154 mayorga will be gassed midway through the first. Cotto needs a fighter who can make him fight in the 8th 9th and 10th rounds. If cotto really intends to fight margarito or martinez, he'll be best served by a tune up against a high energy opponent. It makes no sense for him against this out of shape has been. He needs to work on that stamina. He's not stopping margarito or martinez. I still think it should be an easy fight, but not one in which his opponent will gas easily.

this isn't a great fight, but cotto needs more fights with steward before he faces marg again. i doubt mayorga can get down to 154 lbs tho

I respect Cotto and he's fought a great level of compitition during his career but it's really obvious that since he's been at 154 he's looking for nothing but soft fights.

even so if they make this fight i'd certianly watch.
