I think thats the best option for Marquez right now. Id say he would easily beat Soto and then move up and fight Maidana to prove that he can fight a bigger fighter and id say he would beat Maidana. Maidana is made for Marquez, slow and easy to hit!!

Marquez is the champion and the rest are just titleholders nowadays that's how I look at boxing because there are so many so called champions it's insane and there is no way to actually remember all 100+ so called champions so if there's a lineal champion then that's the true champion ie W Klitschko, J Pascal, S Martinez, JM Marquez, P Wongjongkam, G Segura and the rest are just titleholders that don't matter cuz who has the time to try to remember 100+ titleholders
