lol... GP already confirmed to the media JMM's asking prize and that is 5M. Better do some research sir, before making a post.

JMM was asking for 5 million dollars + 5 dollars in every PPV upside. If the PPV reaches 1.2 million JMM could get as high as close to 10 million dollars. WTF you get 1 million dollars on Katsidis and you're asking 10 dollars on Pacquiao..

          Don't act dumb.

What we all have to remember is that Mosley and Marquez....yes Marquez is the bigger challenge, the more worthy of a pay day and the one we all want to see fight Pacquiao, 100%.

But if you guys were boxers at the age of 32 who had 57 fights and were down to your final 2-3 fights before retiring, would you fight the guy who was:

            a) Guaranteed to make you more money, taking less profit, but probably drawing more people to buying, be an easier fight, another big name (regardless of age) on the resume.

            Or...

            b) A guy asking for double the money, less of a draw (cinco de mayo weekend or not), you've beat (even though many thought he lost) before, and he gave you hell both times.

Be serious guys....99.9% of us would pick the first guy. And as much as we don't like it, we'd have to put up with it. If this fight does 1million buys....100,000 of them are probably hardcore boxing fans like us...the other 900,000 are casuals. The casuals are drawn more by Mosley than Marquez. Hell look at the numbers, Mayweather Vs Marquez did a 1 million buys, Mayweather Vs Mosley did 1.4million buys. I hate it, and want to see Marquez in there....but what can you do..it's Manny's career and he earns more so criticizing him is pointless...most of us would do the same as him.

JMM should make more in a Pac fight than he made in a Mayweather fight, JMM has a very good history with Pac which makes for a more sellable fight, But 8M or whatever they're quote (If true) is tooooo much, Even Pac only just started making double figures.

Good post. I think if most people put aside their personal opinions they would agree with Pac wanting to make as much money as possible in his last few years in the sport. Once he retires, it's over, no more paydays. There's no Seniors division like golf or tennis, so let him make as much money as he can right now, anyone else would do the same. It's not like he can wait too long to fight Shane cause he's (Shane) almost done for so he has to fight him now while he's still worth something. Marquez can wait another year, he's not as old. Also, I don't think I've ever heard of a fighter being accused of ducking someone he's already fought twice.

The real problem is that Paquiao on wants to fight for money. That means he fights names not champions. Not the best of any weightclass. It's a shame for fight fans who would only love to see the best fight the best. Marquez and Mayweather refuse to jump threw hoops for paquiao and take whatever leftovers they offer. I respect them for that. Paquiao only fights guys who will do anything to fight for big money. Fight at ridiculous catchweights take scraps and not demand a thing. It's big money corrupting boxing. Leaving real fight fans who have been watching boxing since we were kids and watch it for the love of the sweet science and not to root on one fighter and one fighter only because they share a common birthplace. 99 percent of paquiao fans no nothing of boxing and only follow one fighter. It's sad. Paq is a great fighter who fights sub par fighters at a weight that suits him. Emanuel steward put it best. Everyone is tired of the catchweight crap and it's played out! There is no doubt PAC is a terrific fighter but if u are a true fan of his it's time you demand he fight the best as well. I've watched PAC since he had blonde hair and wore no fear trunks with flames on them and dazzled us on undercards with his game boxing style. But his fame has tanted even his legacy. Let's not forget all the best fights of the recent past do not include paquiao. I watch boxing for the real fighters! Now adays if there is a fight on PPV you can bet it will be weak. Supports boxing.

Couldn't have said it better myself. and by recent fights i'll assume you're talking about his last 4 or 5 fights. They've been nothing but garbage fights but before that Pac gave us some good fights, that was the Pac of old. the pac of new is Money Man Manny Pacquiao just a rockstar in boxing NOT a legend
