Why are ppl getting so mad at a top fighter 'milking' his popularity for a few fights? Bute management is trying to earn top $ while mitigating any big risks. Boxing is a business afterall..

Apparently Interbox gave a list of all opponents who turned Bute down to the media and both stieglitz and sartison were on the list. besides pascal, nobody has called bute out. i kind of feel bad for him, here he is at the peak of his career and there are 8 top middle and super middles who are flat out unavailable for him (Ward, Dirrell, Froch, Abraham, Johnson, Pavlik, Kessler, Taylor) plus at least 2 who don't want to fight him (Sartison, Stieglitz). That really only left Magee, Bika and Mendy.

The Miranda fight is more interesting.

I'm a big Bute fan, but there is no reason why couldn't move up for one fight to LHW to fight a decent name. He better fight one of the top Super Middleweights after this or I will stop supporting him.

          A Few?

This is his 8th title fight and he has yet to meet an opponent with a single decent win at 168.

It's pretty bad when even the good posters are buying into the Bute fraud.

When will he step up,this will be his 8th title defence and so far the best fighter hes fought is Bika.
Hes done a fantastic job of avoiding all the top SM's, great business plan.

Very disappointed in BostonGuy's post myself.

Bute keeps getting fed those face first easy to hit fighters. Interbox cannot have much confidence in their man. Still Magee should be able to make Bute work.

I think it's clear that Interbox was not interested in paying Sartison or even negotiate his demands since they where able to get Magee cheaper and the canadian public cant tell the difference anyway. For us hardcore fans this is a complete waste of time and it's bound to get worse when Bute fights mandatory Mendy after Magee.

What a waste of a career.

It's gonna be a rude awakening for Bute when he fights someone with some level of skill and counterpunching ability.

When he fights a real fighter like Ward, Froch or Johnson he will be facing an opponent who has honed his skills consistently against the very best fighters in the world. What will beating up these jackasses possibly do to prepare Bute for a real opponent?

His refusal to pay Sartison is a joke, if he is going to fight sub par opponents than the best thing he could do for himself is pay an extra couple 100K to bring himself another belt and the right to call himself a "unified champ". (Even though everyone knows damn well Ward is WBA Champ and Sartison is some "Silver" belt holder)

The Bute apologists go on and on about how much money he can make in Canada and why it justifies all his decisions.

Then when it comes to paying Sartison a few extra bucks all of a sudden the money tree has disappeared. Go figure.

I have never seen St. Just fight, only thing i noticed is that hes already 38, has never beaten anyone of note and lost 2 against nobodys. I hope Miranda wins, i always like to see him fight and i want to see a brutal KO from him again like that against Banks! I know hes not elite, but hes entertaining! I would always favour a Miranda fight over a boring Ward fight!

Career changing fight for Miranda. A win and he very well may have another life. A loss to St Juste will spiral him out of boxing for good.
If Miranda still wants it, I think he will win this easy. Im just not so sure his head is where it was 2 years ago.
