Is Glen Johnson another Danny Williams?

Glen Johnson has lost alot of fights and got his fame from knocking out a former great in Jones. Sounds familiar doesn't it. I do think Johnson is a quality fighter, just not in the upper class. I can't help but think Tarver will do a number on him. I realize Tarver got his fame from doing the same to Jones, but he was the first. As we know, once a guy suffers a devastating ko, most of the time he is never the same. Escpecially when he went years before without ever being touched. That and Roy's reflexes just aren't there anymore. Maybe we shouldn't be overexcited about the Jones victory by Johnson. I would interested in everyone's thought's on this. I'm going back and forth with it myself, but leaning towards a Tarver victory.

I tend to agree. It wasn't so much the Glen looked good against Roid..........more that Jones just looked VERY bad!!

I think Tarver will because I think Tarver is just the better fighter.

I do think its unfair to compare Glen Johnson to Danny Williams. Johnson has suffered a million robberies in his career and has proven himself time in and time out as a tough as nails fighter. Out of his 9 losses I would say 5 are robberies. The fight with Daniel Judah was a disgrace even Judah admitted that he lost after the fight. Alot of people also thought he got robbed when he fought Gonzales and Woods the first time and the fight with Kiwanuka coulda gone either way. He fought Ottke reall tough.

The only guy to ever really blow Johnson out was Hopkins and there is no shame in that.

I would say that they both have a little bit of Danny Williams in them, but that Johnson clearly is the owner of the larger share.

I agree 100%....Comparing the two makes no sense. For one,Johnson was the World champion coming into the fight against Roy Jones.Man, Someone that knows very little about Glencoffe Johnson must have made this thread.

Nope. Danny Williams miraculously beat Mike, but he went after Klitschko with no determination. He didnt physically quit but his mind was made up that he was gonna loose. His heart gave out and he was just there.

Johnson on the other hand defeated not only the draw but the man still considered the best in the division at the time, He will come at Tarver with determination/Heart and it will not be an easy night for either. However i do believe Tarver will be victorious.
