The Term 'Robbery' Gets Thrown Around Too Loosely...

....around here but in the case of Hopkins-Pascal, this is the valid

i dont even like Hopkins...heck, i jokingly posted in a robbery thread that i wouldn't mind seeing the old fossil get ripped off in Canada

    but

after watching (sober) last night's fight, i couldn't believe the decision...it was almost predictably horrible.

going into the fight, if i had a rooting interest, it was Pascal but i had no real bias throughout...what i saw were some questionable KDs early where Hopkins MIGHT have been showing his age but after the 3rd round, school was in session

it wasn't even the trademark Hopkins that lunged and clinched...it was like the Hopkins that fought Mercado...seek and destroy

and Pascal, for his part, played the perfect b1tch by running like a coward for more than half of the fight

and the faces in between rounds said it all...a look of desperation on Pascal's face while Hopkins rocked one of determination

Bernard getting robbed didn't bring on the 'haha' reaction i thought i would get...instead it was the 'damn'

they robbed that old man of a hard earned victory...a record breaking title that he deserved

yeah man. it broke my heart because this fight was meant to be the cherry on the cake for Hopkins by becoming the oldest Light Heavvyweaight champion ever.

Some people say a close fight cannot be a robbery, e.g. Martinez-Williams 1, Froch - Kessler.

Yet when someone has been knocked down twice and is in a big points deficit then the fight can only be but close.

I hoped Hopkins would win btw, I'm surprised he won on one of the cards considering the circumstances.

Anybody who thinks this fight was NOT a robbery (ex: the rocket scientist quoted above) does not know boxing.

              Oldest Light Heavyweight Champion huh?

More like oldest champion in the history of the sport regardless of weight class.

              Learn some history son.

It is just crazy how even though only one knockdown was legit, Pascal started moderately well, then tried to get fancy in the second round, then got properly schooled by the great bhop, pushing 46!
And to hear people on this site claim canada will take over boxing.
                  Not with Pascal you aren't.
Bhop should have gotten his record break for oldest title light heavy.
Everyone knows it was a robbery.

Even Canadians know. They're just too racist and corrupt to admit it.
