**Official SCORECARDS Hop-Pascal**

I just watched the fight again.
I had Pascal winning rounds 1,2,3,8 and I gave an even 5th round
Hopkins winning 4,6,7,9,10,11,12 and an even 5th round
I had a score total of 114-113 for Hopkins.
Round 5 was the hardest to score in my opinion. I gave it to Pascal first time, then I had it even on second viewing. If I give that round to Pascal it's a 113-113 card.
I don't generally like giving even rounds, so if I had to swing it would be to Pascal.
So, yeah, close fight.Comment

I agree. To me (I have scored this fight in various ways -some ways to attempt to favour Pascal where it may be deemed close) and still had Hopkins winning.
The problem is-when we score fights,we have a chance to review the fight and it could be even more in Hopkins favour doing this.Nonetheless, even on watching the fight live (as the judges do when they have to immediately score their impression of the round),I still had Hopkins winning by at least 3 rounds. The closest round to score was indeed round 5.Round 10 was not tough to score,so I am not sure how Van de Wiele could have a draw round on that one and not round 5....then of course,I knew this guy is a problem judge who is likely to score as close to favourably towards the hometown guy based on his history of doing so in the past.
To me,the problem is the knockdown in the first round-it was in the back of the head. The 4th round knockdown was the same shot, yet was ruled a illegal blow,so why wasn't the first round?Comment

In fights like this, alot of the time you kinda know who really won when the hometown judge scored it a draw.I agree. To me (I have scored this fight in various ways -some ways to attempt to favour Pascal where it may be deemed close) and still had Hopkins winning.

I couldn't have said it much better....The winner knew who won.Pascal didn't look like a guy that won a fight,he looked like a beaten man and throughout the fight he had the look of "why did I try to cherry-pick this monster"!Comment
