I don't think either has great potential, but I'd lean towards Vargas if he learns to let his hands go at times.

Quartey hasn't done anything to impress me while Vargas has at least managed to somewhat impress me. Vargas is much younger while Ike is getting up their in boxing years. If Vargas sticks with his jab but begins to try to finish more often he has a good chance of making it up top once again.

Are you joking? Getting thrashed and knocked down by of all people "Verno Phillips" is not impressive. How can you say he looks 10x better against better competition when he has only had 2 fights since his loss to Vargas? One of them against a guy 15-7.....LOL.

Fernando has won 4 straight fights stopping Vanderpool and Marshall. Then pounding out 2 well earned decisions against Joval then Castillejo.

If you dont like Vargas....Like Mnash.......then just say it. Dont try and use the "Competition" card considering that is incorrect.

Verno Phillips was his first fight back and he didn't get thrashed he was beat in the first 2 rounds and after he got the ring rust he fought a decent fight for being so rusty. And Yes, he does look better then Vargas, at least Verno Phillips was remotely dangerous and had knockout power, this guy Castillejo looked like all he wanted was a paycheque and then he would retire. He didn't come to fight, if he won it would be a plus not a necessity. And Joval isn't good at all...he was dropped by feather fisted,awkward Sam Solimon (don't say he has power, cuz he DOESN'T). I don't like Vargas but I don't dislike him, I think he is totally done after his two wars with Tito and DLH. If he fought Tito two years later he wouldn't be in this position.
