Comments Thread For: Malignaggi's Options: Hatton or Zaveck Could Be Next

On Saturday night in Quebec, Canada, former IBF junior welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi made his welterweight debut. He stopped Michael Lozada in the sixth round of a one-sided fight. The 30-year-old Malignaggi (28-4, 6 KOs) has switched promoters, having left Lou DiBella for Golden Boy Promotions. Coming into the fight, Lozada (39-7-1, 29 KOs) had won his last three fights, all by knockout.

An alternative fight for Malignaggi is for him, to face Marquez at CATCHWEIGHT!

I hope Zavec doesn't fight him. I think Zavec would be outboxed.

Ya know, I'm a big fan of Dejan as he's shining the light on Boxing in Slovenia. I don't think he's the best boxer alive, but I have definitely taken a liking to him and consider myself a true fan.

However, there's nothing respectable about hiding in you home country where the challenges are few and cherry picking defenses....holding the world title hostage.

He won his world title, and recently avenged his only loss. Now I would love to see him take on some world class competition.

Dejan has stated that his last goal before retirement is to go fight in America. He actually wanted Shane Mosley next!

If he actually comes to America to fight Malignaggi or another 147lb contender in America, I will have tremendous respect for him, win or lose.

Yea I'm the biggest Zavec fan and I would like him to see fight a big name in America but I wouldn't wanna see him fight Paulie. I would rather see him fight Berto or Shane.I want him to keep winning and shine some light on boxing in Slovenia. WAR SLOVENIJA!!!

Berto and Shane would absolutely murder Dejan.

He would be much better off fighting Paulie, who he might be able to bully a la Ricky Hatton.

Berto and Shane would not murder Dejan. Berto fight would be tough but I guess Berto would win. The Shane fight depends on what version of Shane comes to fight.
