WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez took a few shots at his former Golden Boy Promotions stablemate "Sugar" Shane Mosley, who recently left the Los Angeles-based promotional company to pursue a fight with Manny Pacquiao on May 7 in Las Vegas. Mosley, Marquez, along with unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto - are the three names under consideration to face Pacquiao on the May date.

Its noble of Marquez to defer to Berto although I'm sure he would take the fight over him.. he seems to realize that Berto needs a shot, and Pacquiao should fight him if he wants to remain P4P #1.

I hope Pac takes on Berto, I will be rooting for Berto because my family is from Haiti, but Pac is my #2 favorite right now so I expect him to win. Regardless it would be a great fight, and undoubtedly the next best fight for Pac. The other two opponents were Mayweather's last two fights lol come on man lets be real with that.

Marquez knows whats up. If Pac doesn't want to fight him, then pick the next thing which is Berto. A young star hungry to claim his spotlight.

It'd be even better if Berto won honestly, because Pacquiao would still remain a star and Berto would finally be up with the 2 top guys. If he beats Pacquiao, then we'd have Berto on that list of big draws for sure.

If Pacquiao wins, he gets credit for defeating a young talented fighter in his prime. Which is much better than defeating Mosley IMO, and we finally get to see a competitive fight. Not a one sided beat down.

Everyone wins in this case.

i agree with jmm that pac should fight berto and mosley is declining. what i disagree is berto is not slow. he has youth,speed,and power. the speed of his punch makes it powerful. i prefer to see ducquiao vs jmm but if it won't happen the make it ducquiao vs bert. forget shane Oldsley.

If Marquez is recommending Berto to face Pacman, then Marquez has to prove his point by fighting Mosley!

Berto is the other Champ in Welterweight division, an as such his stature as the other Champ will certainly add quality in his fight with Pacman.

Another alternative is for Marquez to fight the other Champ in Lightweight

If the three options for Pacquiao (Moseley, Marquez & Berto) were crying to fight Manny then maybe it's a good idea to make them fight each other and the winner deserves a fight w/ Pacquiao...

If you think Moseley is declining but then record speaks he has proven his worth to be a force to reckon with...Maybe if you downgrade the capacity of Moseley, I much more doubt Berto w/c was exposed by Collazo & Marquez ineffective at welterweight will be as competitive as Moseley even at old age...
