Solis made his pro debut at 258 at age 27 (i think). The guy just doesn't have the discipline to control his diet or do the roadwork to be a world class athlete. He has yet to come in in real shape in his entire career. It's like the fat girl that keeps telling herself shes gonna get in shape before bikini season, doesnt do ****, and find herself trying to fast for a week before her week in Cancun cause she didn't work out.

Also, he's not the fighter that won the Olympic medal. He doesn't ever use his jab. He just walks in looking for the single shot. And I don't think he has a Corrie Sanders-level punch. He has a great over-hand right, but Vitali is tall as ****, and will be training to neutralize it.

Just look at the digression of skills and workrate here

Odlanier Solis vs David Haye (2001) - High workrate. Combination punching. Sets up the right hand with a jab.

Odlanier Solis vs Carl Davis Drummond (2010) - Fat as ****, Stalking around slowly, and looking for the one big punch. Solis also looks much slower here than he did in his previous fight with Monte Barrett.

Solis is no Arreola. He has the skills and the pedigree. He is probably more skilled than David Haye. But if he can't stay away from the Chimichangas and Coronas, it will be another easy night's work for Big Vitali.

I am excited for this fight though. I like seeing the Klitschkos clear out these young guys with respectable talents instead of fighting old ****s.

After Haye, Adamek, and Povetkin (if he doesnt retire haha) the Heavyweight division will be seriously empty!

Haye must be celebrating at this news. He'll have Vitali of his back for a while and hopefully until he retires next year. One more ducking to go with Wlad.

        Quote from Solis

“I don’t think I’m fat. What I would like to do is slap around some of the newspaper writers that say I’m fat.”

Lucky he said some, otherwise, he'd have a lot of slapping to do.

No, there's some new ones coming up that are very talented: Pulev, Glazkov, Boytsov, Price, Wilder, Helenius, Perez, etc.

There are more good HW up-and-comers now than there were 3 or 4 years ago.

Solis is Cuban not Mexican. He is probably is having trouble staying away from the Roasted Pork, Pork cracklings & the rice and black beans. Arreola is the guy that can't stay away from the Chimicangas & Corona.

Well, I guess Vitaly will have to add another Cuban to his harem, Solis will be yelling "no mas" after the 6th round like Gomez did. Solis doesn't have the heart to take a beating for 12 rounds that Briggs has.

Gomez took the shots until the end. You can't take that away from him. It's up to Solis to come into the fight in the shape of his life while he still has age on his side. Gomez's best days were behind him.

who knows i always give any fighter a chance no matter if it seems obvious that person will not win. but maybe solis will get his s h i t on point and get fit, so he can at least give his all and not gas out. but if vitali wins it will not surprise anyone of course and may the best boxer win if indeed they do meet

Cut the bullshit, Chambers is faster than Solis and Rahman has more power than Solis.
