He was supposed to school a one dimensional slugger with ease. Before the fight we all heard about Khan not losing a round and knocking out Maidana by round 6.
He failed big time............This kid ain't the next coming of Ali.
First up, while he certainly didn't school Maidana in the end, for the first nine rounds he essentially did. Secondly, it has to be said that only Freddie Roach was telling people that Khan would knock Maidana out in the first six rounds, most people thought he'd either take a lop-sided decision or get a late stoppage. Thirdly, who the hell said he was the next coming of Ali? Khan is a good young prospect, who could become a star in the sport, nothing more right now.
The manner of the victory - dominating early and then surviving an onslaught - will do more for his confidence and more for his credibility than a complete schooling ever would have. While I'm concerned that Khan took as many shots as he did, I'm pleased that he showed an ability to suck it up. Khan sort of failed, but to truly succeed you must fail a little first and winning a unanimous decision over the most feared puncher in the division, having taken his best shots flush, it not a bad way to fail.

Pretty much spot on.
If ******s like the original poster would actually look at real betting lines before fights, they'd know what's expected and what's not. Instead of ignorantly going by the words of a trainer who is really just trying to hype his guy up and market the fight. Khan to win by KO was less likely than by decision.
maidana is a one dimensional slugger and if khan had problems with him why the fu** would he bring up someone like mayweather or pacquiao..maidana has a hard punch or maybe not according to khan he doesn't but yet he still managed to make him look like a mess..so he shouldnt be talking about fighting someone who actually posseses speed, defense and good foot work.
if i was him i would go for prescott and let him pay for making him look like a little bit** but for some reason he wont none of prescott he thinks beating maidana settled the score lol
Actually khan mentioned prescott, judah or peterson as his next fight you fool

lol i dont think iv heard such rubbish in a long time. it wasnt that long ago he got sparked in under a minute, now he has just beaten somebody who had ko'd 27 of his 30 opponents and very nearly Ko'd him in 1! but hes failed??.........sure!
He was impressive in the sense it answered all the questions about this chin, but his performance overall wasn't impressive, he looked like he was beaten much worse after the fight and the shots he took was just horrible. He was a sucker to those uppercuts and he had no ring generalship whatsoever. I don't know if Maidana makes his opponents look bad but I see Khan having huge problems with sluggers in the future.
