Since when does floyd "beat" his opponents up

to the point where they aren't mentally the same fighters anymore?

last time i checked, UD'ing / pittypatting to a decision does not equate to a "beat down" or "beating up" a fighter to the point where he wants to reconsider returning to the ring. there needs to be a distinction and i think people are overrating the **** out of this dude

by your logic maidana clearly beat khan. the sport your talking about is called boxing, the art of hitting without getting hit. i suggest you try the ufc it might be more to your liking. bye.

nice definition. as long as you don't use the word 'beatdown', 'beat up' and floyd in one sentence then everything should be fine

Explain to me this logic because this post makes absolutely no sense.

Did khan win by beating up maidana? hell no. No one mentions khan laying the "beatdown" on maidana. Khan won by boxing his head off.

now explain to me, how is UD'ing an old ass mosely equate to "beating him up" or laying the "beatdown" like people in here keep on spewing

Hatton contemplated retiring after the Mayweather fight. You can argue that he took the wind out of N'dou's sail too, stopped Gatti's momentum. Mosley also contemplated retiring after their fight but he's in his mid 30s so understandable.

Anyway I don't know why I'm entertaining this crap. In boxing the point isn't to beat your opponent down, the point is to win. Now beating your opponent down is an effective way of winning but it isn't the only method.

                Trick question.
it was a lose/lose situation and EVERYBODY knows it

If he knocks mosley out, "oh, he knocked down an old guy"
he outboxes mosley and its "oh, mosley is old and doesn't have enough stamina to keep up"

Floyd wouldn't have made a different NO Matter what he did, you guys know it, and thats why you use it against him.

When Mayweather fough marquez, people said he was too small.
So why the hell should he fight Manny who is shorter than Both of them?

hence if you read my post, there needs to be distinction between winning and a ring massacre which floyd isnt really known for

If someone ate a couple of punches in a street fight before their friends intervened you wouldn't have a problem with saying they got beat down, I've heard people say ''X got beat down after receiving one punch''.

Mosley was getting caught cleanly and connecting with nothing in return, it's not unreasonable to say he got beat up. His corner even thought about throwing in the towel. This seems to be another thread laced with hate, bias and a sprinkle of ignorance.
