Lee, for what it's worth, overtrained himself for a TV fight and came in 2 lbs under the limit. If you look at Lee's recent fights he hasn't even made the 160 limit in a long time so coming into the Vera fight at 158 should have set off some alarms.

Also, they allowed Vera to come into the fight at 162, they could have forced him to take off the weight, but were overconfident and did not. Ultimately Lee ran out of gas and Vera had a full tank because he didn't work to make the weight.

Not saying Lee is gonna whoop Martinez or anything, just that people need to look at the Vera fight and realize that it was not simply a matter of Vera being the better fighter,
I think the toughest guy out there for Sergio right now is Pirog or possibly Golovkin. My judgement towards Andy Lee not being that good is based on that one fight after seeing what Kirkland was able to do to Vera. So it's kind of hard for me to view Lee as some kind of big threat to Martinez. But at least Lee's got a punch unlike the bum Cotto is fighting.

Kirkland forced Vera to drain down to 157. That was the contracted weight. This was after Kirkland knew Vera couldn't even make 160 against Lee.

I went to the weigh in for Vera-Kirkland, it was on the undercard of Hatton-Pauli at MGM.

Vera's manager is a friend of a friend, I saw him before he weighed in and he could barely stand up.

If I am Andy Lee, I take this fight. Although Martinez looked sensational against P-Will, after such a high this could be a let down performance. And title shots don't come calling all that much. I say take the shot and go for it. Should be fun to watch while it lasts (Sergio by 7th round TKO)...

People are writing off Lee but he is even bigger than Williams and will tower over Martinez.

Martinez fights with his hands down and Lee has a long jab and is a very precise puncher if nothing else.

This will be a much better fight than it initially appears.
thank god you hate nyc, dont need anymore of you midwest jerkoffs over here any damn way.

It suprises me that Kirkland couldn't even knock Vera down then even though he stopped him.

Lee goofed off a bit against Vera. That was his Ross Purity.

I take him to pull off what might seem to the untrained eye as an upset. Sergio did well against Williams but in Lee he's facing a real middleweight talent and native boxer.
