He's looked great, excluding his performance against Maidana in my opinion. Also to me, that was more due to Amir Khan trying to make a point maybe? I don't know. Just hope he doesn't make those mistakes again (Lowering his guard as he backs up), not really much of a fan but he's clearly much better than he showed...

        Roach has done him good.

Doesn't look as ripped? Hahah. I didn't know that was a great indicator of fighting skill. He's even said it himself that he put too much emphasis on body/muscle building before which hurt his bottom line in fights. Power is lower because he couldn't put away Maidana??? How ridiculous is that? I highly doubt any 140 lber would've stopped Maidana on Saturday night last weekend.

Jesus...some people on these forums prolly never even seen many fights.

If u saw amir khan in his pre roach days ..it's blatantly obvious he has improved. Ok he isn't the finished article but what he was before...MR HANDS DOWN...that was shocking

Also, if he would've just blatantly gunned for a KO against Maidana, he would've been stopped worse than Ortiz was. He almost got stopped even when he was mostly trying to fight smart and cautious. And idiots...perhaps like you...woulda been all over the boards right after with that great hindsight pasting Khan with how ****** he was to go for a KO against someone like Maidana.

Dude has 7000 posts and he's still putting up dumb **** arguments like a boxer perhaps not progressing because he's 'hasn't looked as ripped.' Boggles the mind.

I noticed him crossing his feet a lot when chasing Maidana? Surely this is a bad strategy? At times he looked too keen, and seemed like he leaned forward a lot and lost his balance.

Overall though, yes he has improved. I've seen all of his fights (including the olympics amateurs), and if anything, he looks less frantic and doesn't throw as wildly now.

Check out his first three fights on youtube. You'll see what I mean.

I somewhat noticed that too. I'm not sitting here claiming he fought a perfect fight against Maidana. Far from it actually. Fair chance that the body shot KD in the first actually somewhat hurt him in that it got him a bit overconfident/willing to engage more as it looked like he was trying to press the issue with headshots (which Maidana apparently just doesn't even really blink at) in the middle rounds.

But yeah basically, I think he's a lot more controlled offensively (like you said) than he was before which is what he needs to get to the absolute top. Just that original poster's reasoning for his claim was just f ******ed. If anything, people should be getting on Roach for not developing Khan's inside defense AT ALL. He didn't say a single WORD to Khan about all those uppercuts that were getting through in close even before Khan got seriously hurt.

Amir Khan has looked a lot better than he did before he came to the USA. Faster more technical and much more confident!! Im not a fan of KHAN but he is a good fighter but he should not try to exchange with heavy punchers because his chin is still made of glass!! I know people will say that he has a strong chin bkus Maidana couldnt knock him out but thats because the last three rounds he ran like a wounded animal just punching a little towards the end of the rounds. lets see who he fights next i doubt he can beat or even wants to fight Bradely, that would be very risky for him after such a hard fight!!
